Hi, can't download the file , because the exe is infected with Win64:Evo-gen (Trj). My Virusscanner (Avast) directly blocks the downlaod-url and the .exe when downloaded directly. Malwarebytes also says it's infected and quarantines it immediately!
As far as I understand (which is not very far), the reason it's getting flagged is either due to the way it was compiled into an exe (I saw similar complaints from other people using the same Python library) or because the program opens another program when it runs, or some combination of both.
You may need to add the file to some kind of allow/safelist in the program that is quarantining it: https://support.malwarebytes.com/hc/en-us/articles/360038479234-Exclude-detections-in-Malwarebytes-for-Windows
So, I have 2 characters with the same name, but after sorting it has stuck them into one folder. I was wondering if there was a way to determine which saves belong so which character?
I didn't consider this possibility when I made this. I will see if I can add changes next time I do an update that would make this scenario work!
In the meantime, you can sort them by basically doing exactly what this tool does, except manually:
Open the folder with the two characters saves in them
Look at the save file names. Immediately before the .DAS, there is a string of letters/numbers. The first few are related to the number of the save itself. The last 8 are unique to each character, and are the same for all the saves of that character.
Use the search function in File explorer (top right) and type in an asterisk, followed by one of those sequences of 8 characters, followed by .DAS. Example: "*5B43954E.DAS" (without quote marks)
Press the Enter key. This should filter the contents of the folder so that only one of the characters' files are listed.
Copy or cut + paste them all into a different folder, which you can create manually yourself with a different name
If you choose to copy, you can repeat Steps 3 and 4 and then delete those files, leaving only the other character in that folder
If you run the tool after doing this and you still have saves for both characters in the game, it will put all the saves for both characters in that same original folder again. The ones you moved manually should stay where they are, but would probably get copied onto that other folder again.
Hey again! I added version 1.1.1 which should fix this problem! If you still have a folder somewhere with both characters in one, I would recommend renaming the folder to something that will tell you it's the one with two characters, then run the 1.1.1 version. If the saves are no longer in the game, you can just select that backup folder as the source of the saves, in that first field that is labeled "DAI saves folder", and it will sort just those.
For whatever reason it doesn't work for me either - it opens a second window as well. I chose the .exe for the second path as you so kindly answered before. I'm confused and I'm grateful for any help.
Just jumping in to let you know you've chosen the wrong .exe for the second path. (I did exactly the same thing when I first downloaded)
You need to download the DAI Save EDITOR. (https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonageinquisition/mods/207) and set that path in the second box. So it should end das_edittor.exe (At the moment you have it pointing to das_sorter.exe which is incorrect)
Hope you don't mind me answering - Just saw that you did exactly what I had done and planasene very kindly pointed out my mistake :)
I seem to be running into an issue where when I click "Sort Save Files" The only thing that happens is the programme opens again in a second window. Not sure what I'm doing wrong- any suggestions would be appreciated!
Hey there. I'm sorry for the delay in seeing these, job took me out of my internet routine.
My guess is the path to the das_editor that the app asks for is pointing to this sorter instead. The "Sort Save Files" button runs the das_editor first to grab the character name, so if the path defined there is actually the one for this app, it will open this app again. I tested the theory and that is indeed what happens if you picked the wrong exe.
Please double check that the second path asked for in the main app window ends in das_editor.exe. That app will need to be installed/saved on your computer first before using this one.

Hey, I would really appreciate it if somebody could link the archived v1.1 for downloading. Thanks!
