u gave skyhold a much needed makeover!! too bad some texture is outdated and looks blurry when up close...hope it could get updated one day, still looks awesome tho
This mod is incredible! Skyhold is like a brand-new place now! I adore the pale walls and floors; it makes the interiors feel more open. For peace of mind, I am running well over 100 mods for DAI using both DAIMM and Frosty. I do have a higher end PC but I have faced plenty of crashes and infinite loading screens that has led me to vet dozens of mods until they all manage to play nice together. This mod DOES NOT cause any long/infinite loading. The true "test" for me on whether mods will work long-term is the journey to Skyhold. It worked flawlessly with this mod, and the loading screen that pops up when you get into the castle and become inquisitor was barely a couple seconds.
It works fine with Frosty. The lighter walls make the place lighter, like they'd renovated and cleaned Skyhold way better. Great mod, thank you! Edit: Not just Skyhold, Caer Bronach and other places also get different looks.
Love this mod, have used it for every replay. Skyhold feels more like mine with it, thank you! And for anyone using Frosty (as of ver. 1.0.5.9), this can be imported with it, but I have noticed the more mods installed the longer the game takes to render changes to Skyhold. I've spent anywhere between a few seconds and a few minutes with parts of Skyhold being rainbow pixels before the changes kick in. The tavern turned into a rave hotspot at one point, it was great. XD
I'm so sad because i just switch to frosty ( since there are more and more mods that are being add ) so i can't use it anymore :( But i still wanted to tell you that i really like your mod! :)
This looks absolutely stunning! However, I've been having problems with Skyhold when I have this mod active. I believe the only other mods I have that impact it is your Amethyst mod (the purple is beautiful and I'm in love) and I've made sure I got rid of the alt file. Is there something else I'm missing or ? The problems are either I can't load into Skyhold (I'm stuck loading) or I can't talk to anyone (I'm stuck loading then once it finishes I can't do anything)
That is not a problem I have ever noticed, however I have noticed that sometimes Skyhold just... has trouble loading, especially if you have mods loaded (though I have noticed it even when I don't have mods loaded sometimes.) The issue may simply be that both of these mods alter a LOT of different textures and that Skyhold is an extremely resource-heavy location, and DAI's architecture appears to just be super inefficient?? It could be something else, but if the game loads everywhere else and just not in Skyhold, then it may simply be a lack of resources, which you might not be able to do much about, unfortunately. You could try uninstalling other resource-heavy mods you might be using, such as high-res eye textures (which I have also noticed cause problems in Skyhold.)
I have also noticed sometimes that a mod will just... go bad? Like my game suddenly started freezing and behaving weirdly in Skyhold, and I tracked the problem down to an outfit retexture for Dorian of all things, a mod I'd been using for hours of gameplay without any issue. Still have no clue why it suddenly started causing problems, but taking it out fixed the issue.
Not sure that's helpful, but there you go. TL;DR no you're not missing anything in relation to my mods specifically; DAI is just really weird about mods sometimes.
When Skyhold Recolors is active (any part) loading is slow, though I have strong video (well, all PC of mine is strong))) Anyway... recolor looks very cool but it's heavy a bit.
Skyhold always did seem a little bland, so this is a much needed addition to my modlist and will stay on it as long as I find a reason to come back to the game ; ) Seriously though, this is awesome! I was suprised to suddenly see grungy brickwork everywhere I went, so I decided to just freshen things up with the rich wood and black roofs, but this is remarkably well done.
Just got to Skyhold with my new Inquisitor and he wants to redecorate - I am excited!
Edited to add now that I've got it all loaded - I absolutely love the changes and there are zip problems with the mods. I chose Grunge floor, red roof, dark stone trim, grunge wall accents, pale walls and pale wood - the effect is truly eye catching and changes the feel to Skyhold so it all seems new again. I took a number of screenshots and will prove them tomorrow. Very well done! Thank you! Endorsed, absolutely.
I do, I do love it! Such a different feel to it now from previous occupants, and I look forward to opening up more of Skyhold. I literally just got there before finding your mod so things are still pretty shabby :)- thank you thank you!
No issues at all - I love how this changes not just Skyhold but other buildings throughout Ferelden (ruins). I tend to play all my playthroughs from the same mod manager but this mod makes me want to switch up everything for different characters. Thanks for the great mod!
