I'm guessing this project is abandoned now.
As it hasn't been updated for a long while and with ea desktop app thing out aswell. Has ruined alot of the working older mods.

I know this question was from ages ago, but the installation is the same as any other DAIMOD. Extract the files you want, place the DAIMOD files wherever you keep them, then merge the patch as normal through the mod manager. It'll overwrite any previous merge you've done, but if you are extra cautious/paranoid (like me), you can go to your Dragon Age Inquisition install directory (where you installed the game), open the "Update" folder, and then delete "Patch_ModManagerMerge". Again, that part isn't required, but thought I'd include it.

Just note that other people have commented that the "Caves" and "Cliffs and Rocks" parts of the mod cause crashing in The Western Approach and Emprise du Lion.

As other modders have mentioned, the Caves file in addition to the rocks and cliffs will cause crashes, in The Western Approach and Emprise du Lion especially.

Which sucks, because I love how dark and real the caves were looking. It's been two years since these other comments, so I guess it was never fixed.

thanks for this comment, was able to find the culprit much easier than having to manually test all my mods

Thank you so much for creating this; and sharing this project! The pictures really looks beautiful and help add quite a bit to the beauty of Thedas! Really appreciate all your hard work in getting these modular and as many other people have said I hope you will continue on some of the other areas and beautify some more of our world that we love. Anyways with my best regards

    Respectfully,
    Chris

Any chance for Frosty version? it loads and works sometimes, but textures are glittery most of the time...anyways great mod, really improves the visuals, i'd really love to play with it ))

I notice that you have other Mods that change the visuals of the game planned. I just wanted to ask if these are being worked on? I'd totally love to download all those mods together. I'll settle for downloading this one now though it really looks great.

Ya, I thought of doing them, but these kind of mods have many problems with them for some reason. People are getting freeze screens and stuff, don't know how to work that out :/

I love the mod and Id encourage you to do the rest of the game because it looks stunning. I did encounter an issue with the Western approach a Direct X issue and subsequent crash. I believe others have reported it too. I wouldn't let these issues discourage you from completing what you set out to do. Since these issues seem unfix-able, i'd release it in a modular form. At least then if there are crashes they can be overcome by removing that modular part. It's great to have something like this out there even if it might not work fully. So I hope you complete this mod series sometime.

Also I had no issues in any of the maps other than Western approach. Not sure if it can be fixed but i'll look through the posts :) EDIT: Caves mod seems to be causing the issue. At least for me no freezes or anything else. So I can enjoy the rest of your mod ;)

I am jumping on this with both feet and crossing all the body parts that will cross that I am able to avoid the crashes! Your shots look beautiful, are you using a reshade and if so can I ask which one?
Thank you for your hard work, I'm sure tackling this was no easy job!

Thank you for your nice words. :)
It's hard to fix those crashes, because there is like 200 files I've changed, don't know which ones are causing it.
      I wasn't using a reshade on my screenies. :)

Good to know, I think I've found a reshade that makes me happy and between it and this mod things are looking very very good! I've barely got my feet wet but if you'd like I can send you feedback and screenies as I progress (I tend to take a LOT while gaming, lol). I'm really excited for future additions from you and truly appreciate you sharing this with us!

I can help you considerably in finding the issue eHayden.

The file that causes the eventual screen freeze crash on frostback basin and probably a few other places is Thedas' Caves.daimod

There is a way to find the problem file(s), its called the 50/50 approach, basically remove 50% of your files from this mod and retest (doing this alphabetically is best), if it crashes then you know the bad file is among those 50% that are in the mod, rinse and repeat until you reduce the number of files down to a point that you can easily see which file is causing the issue.

It's less tedious then it sounds, just be sure to organise your test folders correctly so you aren't adding the broken file(s) back into the bunch.

Here is a save file at a camp where the game freezes if you have that file caves enabled. There are other mods present so your game patch version must be set as 13, just edit the package.mft in Patch directory to do this.
It won't matter if you only have your mod installed, it just removes the mod content, no harm done.

Yeee, I agree that this is the best way of testing the issue. I can actually go over caves file, because there is not a a lot of stuff there, I changed about 40 files I think. But the testing for other files would take forever and I can only go over them when I'm more able to mod. For now I am not able, but I'll try to fix this file.
Also, it bugs me, because when I play the game, no problems whatsoever, I don't know why. Maybe I didn't play long enough.

I had the crash twice in same area when going up into the hills through the cave with red lyrium on Emprise du Lion map, I disabled the remainder of your mod and it seems no CTD atm. Could be a random thing since the game does ctd on its own at times, thought rarely twice in same spot.
