DESCRIPTION

This mod restores some inaccessible Cullen dialogue I found to the game. It feels like this was originally meant to have a small cutscene to go along with it, but possibly wasn't completed. Will feel a little unfinished without a cutscene.

As of v2.0, this mod also changes the plot flag required to trigger the "Have you met Hawke before?" dialogue option. I've never been able to trigger this dialogue before, so the option now requires you to have met Hawke at Skyhold.

IMPORTANT NOTES

This mod modifies the "in2_cullen_hub_1_main_i" conversation file and will be incompatible with any other mod that also modifies this file.

I have not had any problems with this mod, but as always: Use at your own risk.

HOW TO GET THE DIALOGUE OPTIONS

For the "Let's do something together" dialogue option to become available, you must complete Cullen's personal quest "Perseverance" and the follow-up scene with him afterwards, and ultimately choose to either (1) take Cullen off of lyrium for good OR (2) find another way to quit later. Keeping Cullen on lyrium with no promise of stopping later will lock you out of this dialogue option.

For the "Have you met Hawke before?" dialogue option to become available, you must have met Hawke at Skyhold.

TRANSCRIPT WITH CONDITIONALS FOR "Let's do something together."

INQUISITOR: ("Let's do something together.") I could use some fresh air. Could you?

CONDITIONAL: IF SLEPT TOGETHER
CULLEN: Rooms in the Ferelden Circle were shared. Beval requested a transfer because apparently I talk in my sleep.
INQUISITOR: You do.

CONDITIONALS: IF PLAYED DA2, IF CARVER ALIVE, and IF CARVER IS NOT A WARDEN
CULLEN: They didn't speak often, but Carver was always loyal.
CULLEN [IF HAWKE IS MALE]: The recruits knew better than to insult his brother.
CULLEN [IF HAWKE IS FEMALE]: No one dared speak ill of his sister.

CULLEN: …it would look bad if I laughed in the middle of an inspection. I bruised a rib hiding it.

CULLEN: …but he just kept talking. We all just looked at each other. The mages were as confused as I was.

CULLEN: I don't know what he'd done, but the bird was tangled in the jesses. I had to cut her loose.

CULLEN: (Laughs.) Did you really? There must be more to it. What happened after that?

CONDITIONAL: IF ROMANCE ACTIVE
CULLEN: Honestly, I couldn't keep my eyes off you. But we'd only just met.

CULLEN: Does this one have a name? A fine bird like this deserves a name.

CULLEN: I've attended a few Harrowings. Even when everything goes well, they are nerve-wracking.

CULLEN: …and then traveled by ship to Kirkwall. I'd lived in the middle of a lake. I thought I was prepared for sea travel…

CONDITIONAL: ? (IF PLOT FLAG 4879DB926045FE439DD3A6F1D28C0199 = FALSE)
CULLEN: I didn't tell Leliana we were borrowing her bird. Chances are she knows anyway.

CULLEN: …then says, "She's from Kirkwall," as if I would know her. Kirkwall's a big city. I didn't go around introducing myself to everyone.

CULLEN: If Varric writes a story about all of this, do you think I'll be in it?

CULLEN: …it doesn't matter if you have magical resistance or not. Getting singed by a fireball hurts.

TRANSCRIPT WITH CONDITIONALS FOR "Have you met Hawke before?"

INQUISITOR: ("Have you met Hawke before?") Did you ever cross paths with Hawke in Kirkwall?

CONDITIONAL: IF SIDED WITH TEMPLARS IN DA2
CULLEN: When the city fell to chaos, Hawke fought alongside the templars.
CULLEN [IF HAWKE IS MALE]: Kirkwall would be in ruins if not for him.
CULLEN [IF HAWKE IS FEMALE]: Kirkwall would be in ruins if not for her.
CULLEN [IF HAWKE IS MALE and HERE LIES THE ABYSS NOT YET COMPLETE]: I'm grateful for any help he can offer.
CULLEN [IF HAWKE IS FEMALE and HERE LIES THE ABYSS NOT YET COMPLETE]: I'm grateful for any help she can offer.
CULLEN [IF HAWKE SACRIFICED DURING HERE LIES THE ABYSS]: To lose Hawke as we did... I can't imagine Varric's taking it well. I wish there was something I could say.

CONDITIONAL: IF SIDED WITH MAGES IN DA2
CULLEN: A few times. Hawke stood with the mages when the fighting broke out.
INQUISITOR: You were on opposing sides.
CULLEN: At first. In the end, Hawke's stand against Knight-Commander Meredith saved us all.
CULLEN [IF HAWKE IS MALE and SACRIFICED DURING HERE LIES THE ABYSS]: (Sighs.) He seemed invincible then.
CULLEN [IF HAWKE IS FEMALE and SACRIFICED DURING HERE LIES THE ABYSS]: (Sighs.) She seemed invincible then.
