I love the no paraphrasing mod for Inquisition - soooo happy there is now one for DA2 as well!!

Thanks so much for making and sharing this ♥ Can't wait to use it the next time I replay the game

I'm so thankful you made this mod!
With that out of the way, the following isn't a critique so much as a basis for discussion. :)

Now... I must admit that I am experiencing some of what the devs found in their testing for spoken dialogue, which was the basis of the wheel and paraphrase system: that people found it redundant to see, and then hear, the exact line. BUT I don't know if that's a genuine feeling or because I've played this for now my 14th time. I can hear Hawke's voice in my head when I read the line; in some cases, I recall exactly the response from the opposite person.

I will still be using the mod, as I'm curious what many of the other options are, which will hopefully lead to more of an informed choice for roleplay. And really, that is the whole point of the full line in the first place: an informed choice as to what your character will say.

Edit/Update months later: finally tried it out and am loving it. It was a bit awkward at first, but that quickly faded. Decided to make this update as I finally did choose a different option based on the full line because I was able to make a more informed choice. It feels more true to my Hawke and ability to RP.

This is a contender for the most important Dragon Age II mod of 2024. Thank you very much.

Hey. Thanks a lot for this. I was using the Full Dialog interface mod before this but that removed the dialogue wheel. In my opinion, the dialogue wheel and the icons are necessary for this game.

I tried using a fan-made translation and it didn't work, unfortunately.
Do you know if it's possible to make it work in the future?

This mod overrides the talktable/.tlk file, which I suspect is what the translation mod is also doing, so they can't both be used at the same time. This mod will only work in English, sorry!

      Got it.
Could you tell me what program you use to edit .ERF files?
I have Dragon Age Origins Tools, but it doesn't open Dragon Age 2 .ERF files.
Maybe if I change the translation based on your mod I can change it to work here.

You can use pyGFF editor to export files from the .erf and da2tlkconverter to convert and edit the .tlk files. (here is a tutorial for the second part if you need it)

I just started a new playthrough and this is exactly the mod I was looking for... Thank you! 😄

BTW, do you think it's safe to use this together with other dialogue mods like Anders Dialogue Edits?

I have that mod installed and it works fine for me! Not certain about other dialogue mods, but I believe as long as the other mod isn't changing the actual text on the wheel/subtitles they shouldn't clash.
