Helloooo!! I must be a nuisance to you now cuz I am SUCH a newbie to the DA toolset altogether ;;w;;
SO I followed your steps and made the morph, exported to .mor then edited I put the file in override and then the chargenmorphcfg but when I select it in the character maker the model is reverted back to the default base in the toolset and the hair is pure white
I must have massively messed up but I dont know where to begin to untangle this
I DID try to do everything all over again but the same results occurred
Any pointers would help greatly and thanks in advance!
If you're going to go with the CC way - putting it into the chargen - it HAS to be a MOP. Mors don't retain slider/morph parameters and the CC doesn't "read" the vertice positions that are baked into it so it reverts back to it's base.
As for the hair, you're missing a tint in your DA2 override.
So about the the textures and tints, I tried to figure it out myself but to no avail- am I supposed to get the tints and textures from somewhere then put them in override?
Aaaah that makes sense! I tried so many other tints with the same results though admittedly I didnt try them all The tints were bz_har_iceblonde, t3_har_vanilla and pt_har_bn5 and none really worked? The Mor was imported to the cc and it retained the sliders but gosh the textures are wrong all over, I must've messed a line somewhere on the editor or something?? for one the face is just a deep red which I am assuming is the color of the tattoo masks
its all such a headache but thank you so much for helping me regardless
Yup. I'm not sure where those first two tints are from but that last one is definitely a Pineapple (pt) tint.
If it's glowing red - you're missing a texture OR when you set up the file directories in the MOP - they were incorrect. They should be (and make sure your slashes are forward):
Just MOPs? If you make that into a MOR, it works swimmingly?
I *probably* missed a mat on one of your targets so it doesn't know whatswhat (and it's defaulting). Can you screenshot the MOP with the drop downs that display the targets used?
BTW, I can see the scalp isn't tinting. Is that you or me?
I hate to say it, but the mops still aren't quite right. Using just the default EM base head works fine, but a mop with any modification has bulging/floating eyes. :/
Okay. Will try two solutions. If the first doesn't work, have no choice but to totally redo them (which isn't *awful* just takes a while especially since I do this all with macros ;) )
Question: I am trying to have a custom eye/color texture for my Hawke preset in CC ( using .mop ) in game but for some reason it keeps showing up grey color in the game, shows fine in toolset. I have tried adding both adding art\characters\playercharacter\shared/heads/textures/ infront of texture .dds and without it but it does not seem to fix it. Any idea what might be causing this?
dude veilguard wasn't even out when i asked this and you said character creator so unless you lied then we should be able to edit their bodies plus that's apart of a character
Hey there. I've been trying to see if I can get this working with Playable Elves, and I've been unable to do so, so I thought I'd ask here.
I made a morph using the toolset, everything went fine, all the files are correctly placed and the like. I then exported it as an mor, put the mor into pygff, edited where I was supposed to edit according to the guide, put the files into my override, and then put my morph's name into my chargenmorph file. However, when I get it running, the morph just doesn't look anything like the morph I made aside from hair, hair color and eye color. I'm at a loss for why this is.
Would it be alright if I sent you some screenshots?
You can (better if you send a screenshot of your MOP params - you did use a MOP right and not a MOR?); but remember that this isn't a *replacement*. Whatever Playable Elves does with the chargen might not be playing nicely.
Oh no, am I stupid, should I not be using an MOR? Is that why when it's ingame the complexion doesn't show and she has no eyebrows? I'm so used to DAO's toolset and it not mattering whether it's an mrh, mor, or mop.
If you're placing this into your Chargen xml then it absolutely needs to be a MOP otherwise the game will revert the morph back to it's default state. The game can't read MORS in the CC because the differences are literally baked into it. The CC is based on morph target positions which a MOR does not have.
Used this to create a preset (.mop) to personal use, unfortunately the face textures start randomly flickering, almost looks like it's cycling through textures.. I believe I followed the instructions just fine..
Any ideas? any help would appreciated! :)
God this game has so many texture problems, I've spent the last week fixing texture issues in both my own mods and other peoples mods lol!
You missed (or put incorrectly) a few texture directories.
Your game isn’t “cycling” the textures but it’s blinking between the two textures that you blended together however it can’t find one so it’s flickering with the lighting. (If it can’t find a texture, it will render black)
ALL textures in mops/MORs must point to art/characters/playercharacter/shared/heads/textures/(whatever texture you’re using here)
Check for any spelling errors and check all drop downs.
Late Reply, but no it wasn't that, I double, even triple checked the texture directories and they were fine, it never "rendered black" at any point either.
I had been using edited textures for the face, when I recompressed them it seemed to fix the issue, so I assume the textures didn't save properly the first time, or I accidently used the wrong compression, DA2 has a lot of rendering issues, so god knows!
So Ive been able to get most of this working, but every hair color I use is just becomes like a wierd ghostly color. Im using morrigan's hairstyle, don't know if that matters, but is there any reason that might be happening?, not just hairs, did the same with makeup as well. Happens on other Hairstyles, not just morrigans, but I cant figure out what it is.
If it is what I think it is; it's in the description:
Some of the DAI Hairs are messed up - like they’re blocky and missing pieces.
DAO has a dumb alpha shader. It doesn’t like transparent textures on top of the same texture so when it makes a plane transparent, it makes it transparent all the way through. Trust the process on this one.
As for makeups, I don't know what that means. It sounds like your tints might not be vanilla.
no this is ingame, and I deleted all other mods that had altered before downloading this, or at least i thought I had, but I guess not if thats what the problem is supposed to be.
Yeah I'm going to need a screenshot since I really don't know. Some parameters may not have been setup correctly when editing the MOR/MOP (have to remember to swap HairM2s to HairM1s, HairM1s to ScalpM1), have to remember to add the extensions to the target textures...have to remembe to *have* the Shared Files.
I sent you a message with multiple screenshots to try and see if there's something obviously wrong im doing. Thank you for trying to help me, I appreciate it!
I am so sorry for the incredibly dumb question, I feel like I'm either reading too much into the directions or somehow not enough. For your installation directions:
Drag all contents of the DAO Folder into your Dragon Age Origins override folder. For me, this is located at: users/documents/bioware
Drag all contents of the DA2 folder into your Dragon Age 2 override folder. For me this is located at:
Am I somehow completely missing DAO and DA2 folders in your mod, or does this mean drag *everything* in the main DAO folder that was created for the game's installation into the override folder, and the same for DA2?
Again, I am so sorry because I know people probably ask you a ton of dumb/obvious questions. I'm clearly missing something (probably) simple. Thank you.
Got it, ERFs in DA2 and loose files to DAO! I cannot believe I somehow missed that, I guess I was focusing on the installation instructions. Thank you so much for replying (and being nice)!
Hi, I wanted to ask, are you planning on making a mod replacing every chantry npc's robes with the inquisition model? I saw your mother Petrice's Robes mod and thought it was a neat idea, it's been a while since you uploaded that one though, so that's why I'm asking.
Hello! I just wanted to ask if the separate files you can download for the different assets are the "Dragon Age 2 folder" mentioned in the instructions, or no, because there doesn't seem to be a folder listed that is specifically called that, and I'm having trouble getting the mod to work. There's a file for DA2 that goes into the Origins folder, and one for the toolset, but not one specifically for Dragon Age 2.
I'm also having some difficulty finding where to install the toolset override. I have the toolset installed, but there's no settings file to replace.

You *may* have something like Pineapples tints in your DAO override. What's the name of the tint you're using?

VERY case sensitive (so no misspellings).
😅😂
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

It's the 'model params' you need, right?
Edit: Okay - try it with this version. Gatt's preset was setup wrong. But you'll have to start again since once you leave the CC, it's baked in.

Anyway, on the Downloads page, the description tells you where each should go. The ERFs go to DA2 and the loose files go to DAO.

Documents\Bioware\Dragon Age 2\packages\core\override is where all the ERF packages go.
settings is in your installation directory for DAO
