Hi! Thank you very much for this mod! Do you know about this codex entry? The last part does not appear when your HoF is female mage with the import from DAO, it is missing too:( https://dragonage.fandom.com/wiki/Codex_entry:_Knight-Captain_Cullen
Nice little mod! Just one small issue I have is the halla statue next to the vhenadahl is not there. I installed this part way through Act 1, if that could be the issue? Although, the dwarven merchant's guild book did appear in Hightown. Just wondering if I go onto act 2 w/o clicking a codex entry (since the statue doesn't exist) will it appear again, or it only shows up in act 1?
That is quite odd. Do you somehow already have the Vhenadahl codex entry? Or is the entry still in the tree (because if so that means the script isn't running for some reason)? The statue should appear in any act, day or night, if you don't already have the entry.
Thank you! I'm still working on getting Teagan's entry to show up. I'm also toying around with restoring the cut Vials quest, but it's just so similar to the Forbidden Knowledge and the AO Black Vials quest that I'm not sure it's worth it.
I think it's worth it nevertheless. Every tiny bit of new content (no matter how similar) seems worth it in my opinion because it fleshes the game out a bit more... even if the fleshing out process is sometimes less flesh and more bones. And I'm sure that other people would think so, too.
I mean, I kind of wish most quests would be implemented again (perhaps by clicking on an item that runs a script that does put you to the point where a given quest is scripted) but I realise that this is likely not as simple.
(Honestly, I am kind of curious about what the other entries say, too. If you don't plan on adding them, would it be possible to copy & paste the text for them?)
I have a bug in my Dragon Age II game. After completing the quest, I have this entry in my journal:
King Alistair Theirin was crowned ruler of his kingdom after the end of the Fifth Blight, with the legendary Hero of Ferelden reigning as his queen. Both former Grey Wardens are wildly popular in their homeland, though some claim Alistair is not of Theirin blood and that his bloodline as a king's bastard son is a lie imposed on Ferelden to depose Queen Anora. Thus, the royals' rule has been plagued with trouble, both within the kingdom as well as with neighboring Orlais. The Blight greatly weakened Ferelden, and many believe a renewal of the long-standing rivalry between the two nations is inevitable.
I have an imported save from DA:O, in which my Warden was male human mage (chancellor), Alistair was made a sole king. Except of this entry, everything else in my game (regarding the information about Grey Warden, including the dialogue with Alistair) is just fine.
I played with the Import Vault Fixes mod and checked the flags via zz_vault_debug, everything was fine and this entry in the codex was the only problem. Most likely, the problem is not in the flags, but in the scripts of the dialogue with Alistair.
Hey, I know it's been awhile, but I finally got back into DA2, and in case someone else has this issue: I can report that there are zero codex plot flags for King Alistair set in his dialogue (in fact, the only plot flags actually set by that dialog are Hawke's personality, and what I think must be a flag about Hawke becoming Viscount). Best guess is that it's in the plot script itself, which I do not have the skills to mess with. :/
Possibly a dumb question (I'm going to test on my own to fix but figured others may have the same question later) but hopefully you won't mind assisting.
When installing, do you simply install the entire "(1) Vanilla" etc. folders into override, or are you supposed to dive into them and extract the individual folders within each to keep things 1 folder level max?
Thank you in advance, and great work/time/effort you put to this. A decade of replays and I never even noticed this was an issue I'd like to see resolved.
Love this mod! Just a little thought regarding the Wolf codex entry - some other mods do restore wolves to the game. I have them in mine specifically via Kirkwall Expanded. Therefore there could still be a use for this codex entry for some players, if you were still pondering restoring it or not. Thanks for making the mod!
Thank you! Funny thing: IDK if Anshela intended it, or if it's because so much of DA2 is recycled from DAO, but killing the wolves added by Kirkwall Expanded grants you the 'Wolf' codex entry. :D
Still missing, unobtainable (PC): Codex entry: Journal of the Tranquil
""Bugs: In Dragon Age II the book appears to be bugged since it appears inside a table making it impossible to reach, and the codex entry will therefore not be discovered until this is resolved.""
A codex entry I'm hoping you could look at is The Dwarven Merchants Caste. I've read somewhere, pretty sure it was the wiki, that it can be found near Bertrand and Bodahn in Hightown during Act 1, but it doesn't get highlighted when the Tab key is held down.
The codex entries should localize to non-English versions of the game.
Unfortunately, MotA's files are encrypted, so I can't do much with them. Also, Isolde's codex entry changes based on events in DAO, and I have no idea how to handle that. If I can figure out how to link codex entries to a character or conversation instead of an item, I do plan on restoring Teagan's at least, so it gets added when he shows up with Alistair in the main game. :)

Are you planning on adding any more cut codex entries/content in the future?

For the codex entries regarding Teagan and Isolde, you do meet them in MoTA, I think?
And quick question, are the codex in English?
