Please note I have very limited info on how this works, any help will have to be volunteered by others. If this file has an updated version somewhere, please send me a PM so I can remove this. Thanks!
So everything works for me. erf files are created and everything. But they don´t work ingame. I tested it with a simple texture change for hurlocks and they still look the same as before. Has anybody actually made this work?
I'm having the same problem :( I guess if no one has replied to you in almost a year, there just isn't a solution? How do people make DA2 mods I wonder...
Sorry for my English, I wrote this with the help of a translator. Textures for DA2 must be placed in certain folders, otherwise the game will not use them. For example, the garlock texture is located along the path "art\characters\creatures\hurlock\textures". In addition, the art folder must be placed in another folder before packing the archive, otherwise the mod will not work either. I advise you to study the contents of the artfp.erf archive to understand where the textures of various objects or creatures are located. If you don't know where this archive is located, there is a useful article about DA2 files: https://wiki.nexusmods.com/index.php/Extracting_files_from_erf_and_rim_files_for_Dragon_Age_2
I took a couple good erfs that work on Dragon Age 2 and made extra copies. I exported all the files from those erfs that I copied into other folders and used the ERFV3 Packer to make new ERFs by packing the files that were exported from the functional ERFs. I put the new ERFs this packer made into the override and they would not work. The files worked in the other ERFs, but they wouldn't work in the ERFs the ERFV3 Packer made.
I can't seem to make it to work. When I run the program a command prompt opens right quickly and closes fast. The program does not run. I have also tried another erf packer from a forum same situation
I can't make it work. I try to open it, but everytime just opens a black window (or console window) and then closes instantly. SORRY for my horrible english.
Soooo I tried to download this, but it says, "The file is currently being uploaded to our file servers and it will be ready to be downloaded soon." It's been saying that for like half an hour (since I first accessed the page). I attempted to download the file from the original BSN post, but Windows Defender claims it contains a trojan (Trojan:Win32/Rundas!plock). Any idea if this the same problem as Norton is reporting?
First of all, thanks so much for making sure this really essential tool is being preserved.
Second of all, just so everyone knows, Norton Antivirus has an inexplicable hatred of this file, both from BSN and I presume from here. I've had to manually prevent Norton from deleting it, with the program deciding to clear it out every now and again just to mess with me. It's definitely not malware and is completely safe - please don't be alarmed if Norton throws a fit.
You are welcome.(and double thanks to elys for having her mods open!) Fingers crossed we save even more BSN mods. I had no idea about the anti-virus on Norton. I will see if there is a way to whitelist it. I wonder if other AV software has similar issues. I will see what can be done, thanks again!

I used the gyGFF-EDITOR (same as for DAO). There is also a good tutorial for this in the nexus forum.

It should be available now.
