Vigilance Weapons
+
Vigilance Retextures
by maximasdecimas
=============================
This is a small mod that allows you to add different versions of the Vigilance sword into Hawke's inventory, along with some optional retextures. The available
weapons include the Vigilance Greatsword and the Vigilance Longsword for warriors, and a Vigilance Arcane Sword for mages.

Vigilance Weapons:
-------------------
______________________
Vigilance Greatsword
______________________
This mod adds the Vigilance greatsword to the game. It uses the model of the vigilance greatsword in Awakening (the same used for the Vigilance greatsword
in DA2 obtainable through console commands. It will have different stats, however).
NOTES: When you use the console and get this item, you will also get the 'Vigilance' codex entry. Since as far as I know, the only way to get this it
through console commands since the VIgilance greatsword was apparently cut from the game, this may not be such a problem, but just letting you know.

Vigilance Longsword
______________________
This mod adds the Vigilance longsword to the game. It uses the model of the vigilance longsword in Awakening (the same re-used for in DA2 for the 'Glandivalis' longsword).
NOTES: If you haven't obtained 'Glandivalis' in-game when you obtain the sword in this mod (and since it is obtained during
'The Awiergan Scrolls: Pride Unbound" quest in Act 3, chances are you won't have done), then when you use the console command and get this item, you will
also get the 'Glandivalis' codex entry. A minor note, but it may bother some people, so this is just a head's up. I don't know how to make it
not do this, sorry.

Vigilance Arcane Sword
______________________
This mod adds an 'arcane sword' mage staff with the appearance of the Vigilance longsword to the game. It is a staff, has staff animations, and
appears in the 'staff' section of Hawke's inventory, but it has a longsword icon, calls itself a 'longsword' in its description, and uses the
model of the vigilance longsword in Awakening (the same re-used in DA2 for the 'Glandivalis' longsword).
NOTES: The Arcane Sword, when equipped, is flipped so that the blade comes over Hawke's shoulder and the handle is at his/her back. This isn't
a glitch, its just how the model 'fits' itself to the staff... that wasn't really a great way to describe it, and I don't really understand it
myself, since making this was pretty much trial and error. But this way, it works with the staff animations so that when Hawke reaches for the
'staff', he/she grasps it by the handle. If it were right way up, Hawke would grasp it by the blade. If you don't like the way it looks, then
I reccommend the mod 'Hide Weapons 2' by DarkenDE, found here:
http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/2150/
This mod gives you the options to hide some or all of your weapons when out of combat. If you don't mind drawing your weapoons from thin air
(which I personally kind of love, it's like a Kingdom Hearts flashback), then I reccommend using this. It also makes a lot of cutscenes a lot
better without arrows or weapon handles sticking over your shoulder, blocking the face of whoever you're trying to talk to.

Vigilance Retextures
by maximasdecimas
=============================
The erf files in this mod change the in-game appearance of weapons that use the models for the 'Glandivalis' longsword, and the 'Vigilance Greatsword', such as the items added
to Hawke's inventory in my 'Vigilance Longsword', Vigilance Greatsword', and 'Vigilance Arcane Sword' mods. They will also change any weapon using the same model,
such as 'Glandivalis'.
=========================
Installation :
=========================
Extract the .rar archive and place whichever 'Retexture' erf file you wish into your override directory. (documents/Bioware/Dragon Age 2/packages/core/override)
That's it.
Have fun with it!
NOTE: You can only use one retexture file for the longsword and greatsword models respectively at one time. You can use a longsword retexture alongside
a greatsword retexture, however, so you can use ONE great sword retexture and ONE long sword retexture at the same time and they should not conflict, since
they are different models. The longsword retexture will change the look of my 'Vigilance longsword', and will also change the appearance of my 'Vigilance Arcane
Sword', since it uses the longsword model, and it will also affect any weapon using the same 'glandivalis' model. The greatsword retextures will change the
appearance of weapons using the Vigilance greatsword model, including my 'Vigilance Greatsword'.
=========================
Uninstallation :
=========================
Delete the unwanted 'Vigilance Retexture' erf file(s) from your override directory.

A huge thanks to the folks at Bioware for making Dragon Age 2 and all its awesome add-ons. Also DAO. That too.
More huge thanks to Thor for the "StandAlone Guide" for modders, found here:

Thanks to Sunnie for the 'DA2 item delivery scripts' guide, found here:
http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/391025-da2-item-delivery-scripts/
A VERY important thank you goes to sendo75, for allowing me to use the files to give the weapons a glow effect from his 'Glowing Weapon retex' mod, found here;
http://dragonage.nexusmods.com/mods/2749
My 'glowing' retextures use the glowing tintmaps from sendo's mod, they are not my own work, only the recolouring of the dds maps are. If you haven't already,
I highly reccommend that you check sendo's mod out. It gives you the option to change the look of a range of different weapons, including Glandivalis and
Vigilance, and was my inspiration for making a few of my own retextures to include in my Vigilance Weapons mod. Mine pale in comparison to sendo's, so if
you want something other than the vanilla look of the in-game textures, then check out the 'Glowing Weapon retex'. It's pretty damn awesome.
