Open the chargenmorph file: at the very end, there's a duplicate line (lines 342 and 343) </skins> </skins> remove one of the lines and it should compile.
Hi! Thanks so much for this. I grabbed it to make the Inquisition Cullen mod work (https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage2/mods/4180?tab=description) and kept running into issues with the chargenmorph compiler - turns out there's a spare </skins> at the end of the scar skins file that breaks the compiler.
Just a quick question, how did you manage to have such an even stubble color? My Hawke’s stubble looks like he started shaving and got lazy half way through :(
Thanks for the no scar option. It's perfect. I wanted something that gave the face a bit more texture than option 1's baby-smooth, but was less weathered than option 3.
Word to the wise, though - it turns out that the 'chargenmorphcfg' file bundled with this 'Scars' download gives the Chargen compiler a major headache. To fix the problem, I...
- deleted the chargenmorphcfg included with this download, then,
- opened up my existing chargenmorphcfg file (the one in my packages / core / override folder) using Notepad, and following the advice posted below by Inchains2609, copy-pasted the following at the bottom of the long list of gibberish:
(This bundle of particular gibberish needs to be pasted immediately ABOVE the last snippet of code that reads " </skins> ", and BELOW this lovely bit of codey jargon here:
Save your chargenmorphcfg file, and exit, and voila! Next time you visit Kirkwall, your fab new skins should be all present and correct.
I know this post will probably have seasoned modders rolling their eyes, but for a poor, ignorant noob such as myself, these things really can't be spelled out clearly enough!
Anyhoo, here endeth the (possibly more confusing) lesson! Thanks again, Tummy_Za, for such an amazing mod!!!
I keep getting an error when i try to install this mod. It says
A problem occured during install: The 'morph_config' start tag on line 2 position 2 does not match the end tag of 'skins'. Line 343, position 7. The mod was not installed.
i'm a bit late on the scene, but any chance we could get this as a .mop? i'd like to be able to have this as an editable preset, rather than just changing my hawke's face with the editor.

- opened up my existing chargenmorphcfg file (the one in my packages / core / override folder) using Notepad, and following the advice posted below by Inchains2609, copy-pasted the following at the bottom of the long list of gibberish:
<!-- Male Custom skin Modified by Tummy_Za -->
<resource name="mt_hed_tmcc_0d"/>
<resource name="mt_hed_tmcc2_0d"/>
<resource name="mt_hed_tmcc3_0d"/>
<resource name="mt_hed_tmcc4_0d"/>
<resource name="mt_hed_tmc_0d"/>
<resource name="mt_hed_tmc2_0d"/>
<resource name="mt_hed_tmc3_0d"/>
<resource name="mt_hed_tmc4_0d"/>
(This bundle of particular gibberish needs to be pasted immediately ABOVE the last snippet of code that reads " </skins> ", and BELOW this lovely bit of codey jargon here:
" <skins>
<resource name="artcharactersplayercharactersharedheads exturesmt_hed_fema_0d"/>
<resource name="artcharactersplayercharactersharedheads exturesmt_hed_kida_0d"/>

<resource name="artcharactersplayercharactersharedheads exturesmt_hed_dwfa_0d"/>
<resource name="artcharactersplayercharactersharedheads exturesmt_hed_quna_0d"/> "
So, once you're all done copying and pasting, the last bit of your chargenmorphcfg file should look like this:
"<skins>
<resource name="artcharactersplayercharactersharedheads exturesmt_hed_fema_0d"/>
<resource name="artcharactersplayercharactersharedheads exturesmt_hed_kida_0d"/>
<resource name="artcharactersplayercharactersharedheads exturesmt_hed_masa_0d"/>
<resource name="artcharactersplayercharactersharedheads exturesmt_hed_dwfa_0d"/>
<resource name="artcharactersplayercharactersharedheads exturesmt_hed_quna_0d"/>

<resource name="mt_hed_tmc_0d"/>
<resource name="mt_hed_tmc2_0d"/>
<resource name="mt_hed_tmc3_0d"/>
<resource name="mt_hed_tmc4_0d"/>
</skins>"
(Just like Inchains2609 said.)
Save your chargenmorphcfg file, and exit, and voila! Next time you visit Kirkwall, your fab new skins should be all present and correct.
