Thanks for this tutorial. I was curious if there was an equivalent one for DA:O? I'm trying to swap some models but falling short of that goal miserably
@holydave This is not a tutorial "only" for champion armor, lol There are some armors textures which are not working, (like for example a chest for an elf to put on a human) or others which are genre bonded, they "vanish" when used on the opposite sex. And also are others "bonded" to companions.
Been banging my head against a wall for hours trying to replace my current armour with the viscount's robes. The fursthest I've gotten, and I suspect in the wrong direction, is finding cth_visa in the item_variations.gda file. But Whatever I do, whether it be following the tutoral and putting cth_visa in or other things besides, when I load up the saved game the armour I was editing has just vanished.
Any help would be much appreciated, because for me this at the moment is just a tutorial on how to get the champions armour.
Hey toxic I noticed something, this actually changes the entire item, you keep the stats you have on it, but the whole item does change, like i changed a staff using this method, went from a fire damage staff to a cold damage staff, just off changing it like this, also noticed a difference with some armor values when you change armors. There is a way to change just the appearance, gonna work up a tutorial an get it posted later.

The stats are the same as I noticed in all cases I tried. Only the name, appearance and icon of the item changes.
Never tried to change an item to another class, like a sword to a staff tho... I don't even know why I'd do that tbh

P.S. There is ofc, another way of changing appearance: using item_variations.gda, using the models from G2DA_ROW_LIST
