Dragon Age 2

  • Refer to the wiki for instructions on enabling the console.
  • To access the Twinception debug run the following console command: runscript twins_debug
  • Please note that any use of the debug for purposes not explicitly outlined below will not be supported. Feel free to faff about with it if you wish, but don't come here commenting about it if something breaks.

Siblicide
  • There used to be a mod by xatmos by the name of Sophie's Choice, which has since been hidden. It allowed you to play the game with the "wrong" twin by tricking the game into thinking Hawke was a different class.
  • If you wish to kill off one of the twins in the prologue, you can do so by accessing the "Siblicide" option in the twinception debug prior to the ogre encounter, and select which twin you want to die.
  • Note that playing with the "wrong" twin for Hawke's class is not as thorougly supported as playing with both twins. The game should function properly but the dialogue may be slightly clunkier, with more incorrect dialogue about things such as Hawke's class.
  • Note also the standard warning in the mod description that cutscenes in the Prologue and Act 1 re-designed for the presence of both twins will look slightly worse with only one twin.
  • Please also note that you should be more careful about mod compatibility with only the "wrong" twin present, as it will be more noticeable if the game starts assuming that only the "correct" twin is present.

Wardenception

  • "But I want both of my twins to be wardens!" you say. Well, I feel you, however:
  • The Deep Roads Expedition can't accommodate the presence of multiple twins, and the grey warden cameos in the base game—in Demands of the Qun, Finding Nathaniel, and their recruitment scene in the Climax—are so short and limited it would be more difficult than it's worth to try to rearrange them to allow for both twins to be present.
  • On the other hand, the DLCs, which rival the amount of content for twins in the base game in Acts 2-3, should easily accommodate both twins as wardens with no issue.
  • If you wanted to use the "Debug plot state" option in the Twinception debug to switch both twins to Wardens for the duration of the DLCs, there should theoretically be no issues in doing so. Just make sure you switch one or both of them back to another state before any cameo appearances in the base game.
  • If you're switching the twins back and forth between the wardens and the circle, the equipment they have on them won't change, but their visual appearances should look correct. If they revert back to the incorrect appearance, you can fix it by toggling them again.
  • If you wish to play with both twins as wardens in the climax, wait until after you've recruited the first twin before you toggle the second to warden. You may have to use the debug to make them selectable in the party picker, and they may revert to the wrong appearance when you travel from the Docks to the Gallows.
