This is exactly the mod we need, I love the sword models, but the textures are just not quite there yet, they look sorta plastic...
I do believe that the idea is amazing though, all the other modders should stop trying to implement overpowered weapons that you have to cheat into the game, they should rather focus on optically improving existing weapons. I want to be able to earn the right to wield these beatiful blades by purchasing them or taking them off slayn foes, not cheat them in...

Okay, I legit have no idea how to interact with the gda files. None of the swords in the game look changed and despite my downloading of GDApp I'm still confused on how to open the override file.

nvm. I figured it out. For those wonderfully cultured players using about to use this mod in this year, first extract the zip file with your standard extracting program (Winzip, WinRAR,etc.) then you have to extract the files from the override folder using 7zip. Enjoy!

Not quite the same year, but thanks! Couldn't solve this on my own for a while and this solved it for me.

So I love this mod, and I can no longer play the game without it.  But I was wondering why Starfang and Maric models do not show up in my Toolset like all the other models do.  Is there a way to make them appear so I can create a custom sword with one of those models?

    EDITED:
Sooo I have a question, is this mod going to continue being developed? if the original author or another mod author wants to talk about creating this optional idea im sure a lot of people would love it. Here it is.

Please Create a secondary version of ls07 (current starfang) where the blade is simply a bit shorter, as an optional file for users to implement via GDA if desired. Since it is forged by Mikhael Dryden, and hes a warden, it makes sense that starfang should be a longer, more epic version of the warden longsword.

Please add a model of Geralt of Rivia's Silver Sword, and make that the NEW ad05 model. Something about having templars wielding monster slayer swords just feels SOO RIGHT. lol.

Now HERE is the tall order part.
If its possible, make the DWARVEN longsword model custom, to individually replace in game longswords that are named dwarven longsword ONLY.  BUT, use the ad03 model for all the normal ad01 longswords aka human longsword.

Don't know why but the Starfang is blackish. Model is ok, just the color is different. Still looks amazing and even more badass but Im wondering what causing it.
I added an image to the gallery.

Same issue here. Model looks great, but lacking that silver color from the screenshots. Got a matte black instead.

Amazing models replacer. Many great looking blades. Especially Starfang/Glamdring and Maric's Blade/Anduril. Shame that there is no new model for 2h Starfang and 2h Vigilance.

I'm stunned that people still use this mod :)

Thanks for taking the time to write a feedback, I really appreciate it!

If anyone with Improved Atmosphere is still trying to get Maric's blade/Vigilance to look like Anduril: delete or rename longsword_variation_gxa located in 1. Global > 1.4 Items > Materials > Awakening Weapons

I had the issue with longsword Starfang still having its base model after the mod and messing around with the GDApp, after some digging I thought I'd check the Improved Atmosphere folder. 1. Global > 1.4 Items > Materials > Warden Keep Weapons here there were a bunch of files for the longsword and all but one were last modified on the exact same date same time so I just deleted all of those except the one with the different date; that file is named g_lsw_ls07a_0.mao once this was done the Starfang looked cool like Gandalf's sword.

I had a conflict occurring and I've seen comments where others have had this issue, so I thought I'd post the solution I found.

I wasn't getting Starfang showing up incorrectly but I was getting Maric's Blade showing up with Vigilance's model. Narrowed it down to a conflict with Improved Atmosphere. Narrowing down what, within IA, it was: 1. Global/1.4. Items/Materials/the .gda files here. So I'd say the Awakening IA gdas are containing some similar/same info and it's just overwriting changes. In this instance it's probably just the longsword gda conflicting but I've removed all of the gdas in this folder just to avoid any other conflicts I might run into. It might just be that the IA Awakening part changes Maric's Blade to the Vigilance model as the modder prefers it. But that was the issue for me.
