It would probably be more beneficial to download manually and install using DAO Modmanager. NMM isn't programed to handle .dazip or .override file types (as far as I know). If you're not familiar with how to use the mod manager this video will help you understand it. It is really easy to work with.

I want to try this mod for going for the siding with Werewolves achievement with one character, but I also want to be able to access Varathorn with other characters using the same DA:O install. Will Varathorn still be available if I install this mod?
The author himself notes that the only change in gameplay is if you side with the werewolves. If you do not side with them and ally with the dalish instead, you won't see any differences, unless you got a mod that edits Varathorn's dialogue.
Hey, will this mod function properly with a save that's already in progress but hasn't completed the elf/werewolf treaty yet? Or do I need to start a new game?
1) I'd have to sound like Varathorn for the one-liner. 2) I killed Varathorn on my playthrough. The only elves that survived were the group that got ambushed by the wolves. So in terms of the story, it didnt make sense to me to have a turned or 1/2 turned Varathorn.
