Misc.erf is in your C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age\packages\core\data Or, alternatively, most mods adding stuff to character generation have it as well. (They'll install it in your overrides). Also, since only one chargen xml takes effect, if you have several mods with it, you may want to combine them all with this tool: https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/971
It's actually harmless and fairly simple to install this mod. This mod is a really solid hair mod so don't be afraid to try to make it work. I use many Character Creation mods (with this one being my latest successful download) too so anyone should be able to get it to work. 1. Backup your chargenmorphfile in case you're paranoid and just stash it away somewhere. 2. Create a new folder (name doesn't really matter I just named mines REN) 3. Extract RENsHair_ver1041-750.zip into the newly created folder 4. Copy your current chargenmorph file into the folder 5. Run the Exe 6. Move the newly created chargenmorph file back into the override. 7. Move the folder into override. 8. ENJOY. If it doesn't work, just delete the created folder and copy your chargenmorph backup back into the override.
Actually GETTING a working chargenmorphcfg.xml was what proved most difficult for me, actually. For those of us who absolutely, for the very life of us, cannot get a mod that actually comes packed with this .xml file (IE we're dodos and accidentally got something intended for the DA Toolset or something), if you download the
CharGenMorph Compiler
and boot it up, you can force it to generate a default chargenmorphcfg.xml file. Drop that .xml file into the same file as Ren's Hair and run her .exe to smash the two together, and voila, the hard part should be over. Just make sure that the force-genned default .xml file is somewhere you can easily grab it, like your desktop.
Hi dont know if I screwed things up with this mod, I followed the read me file but this mod file missed Chargenmorphcfg.mxl file had to look for it on the site. Ran the make_chargenmorphcfg and pressed random button as required and nothing. Was something suppose to happen afterwards cause nothing did went into my game and surprise no new hairstyles.
I downloaded this mod, and the hair styles are great, but for some reason I don't have the same face textures as in the example pictures. I'm using the Dragon Age Revised mod as well, so I thought that maybe that was the cause, but then that mod should only change the appearance of NPCs, so I don't see how that would interfere with this. Does anyone else have this issue?
