Hi Blick, one question: Do these bug fix files and the others you have change the game's language? I'm playing the game in Spanish, and I was wondering if downloading and installing them would change the game's language. Best regards, friend.
Hello Jeirujose Yes, when one exports a .dlg file from the toolset after modifying it, the .dlg is going to be displayed in English. It can be reverted, but it requires editing the file once again. I have done it for a few of my mods - you can check them, these are those recently updated. The Blick's Fixes mod changes many extensive .dlg files and I haven't made them localised yet. As I wrote to you in the IA comments - if you're willing to help with that, I can tell you what to do.
In that case, I would like to contribute to the Spanish-speaking community. As long as you allow me to do so, I will be happy to help. Could you tell me what tools you used so I could start translating the dialogues, which is what would obviously be changed? xD
Just wanted to know if this would fix the problem with lothering crashing as I'm currently having a problem where after leaving lothering and the cut scene plays my game freezes and I've tried 4gb and changing setting lowers and was wondering if this wil fix it
Unfortunately, this sounds like an issue caused by texture mods. You need to check what texture mods you're using, sometimes too many high resolution textures like 4K can cause crashing or freezing - the game was created for 32-bit systems originally, it's best not to overstrain it.
I'm actually running it without mods. I was looking into mods as I thought one of them would fix this problem. The most my pc does ever is 1080p but it seems by the look of it I should just uninstall it and move on.
edit:
It seems it was the fact it was version 1.12 as I installed 1.11 and it works fine now
Sorry about that I only realized after I got my dragon age game versions mixed but I am at the right game though(-.-).I'm not usually someone that goes for mods as I'd end up not knowing what to install, not knowing what I'm doing or it just makes me not wanna play the game anymore. So I usually stay clear of them
First of all, I'm loving this mod and many of the others you have released! Convinced me to do a new playthough.
There is no bug report tab so I will post it here. I did encounter a bug in the Trial of Crows quest. The quest isn't being set as completed after it is done. Here is link that explain the problem and how to fix it. I don't even know if Qwinn's mod, yours or even something else breaks it but I figured maybe you could take a look at it?
Thank you for your kind words, good luck in the campaign.
The unmodded game contains more over 1000 bugs, so it doesn't have to be a mod that's responsible for an issue. But this case is interesting, I'll check it for certain.
Hi Blick and thank you for making and sharing all your mods; it's much appreciated.
I ran the Duplicate Search tool on my override folder and noticed that both your mod and the Qwinn's Hotfix v3.52 contain a qwinn.ncs file. Should I delete the one from Qwinn's hotfix?
Yes, my version is an updated version of the original qwinn.ncs - I had to edit it for a few new fixes. It contains everything from the default 3.52 ver. of the script.
Hey Blick, I've been following your recent work on Dragon Age: Origins, and I wanted to bring a mod to your attention that I believe aligns well with your interests in bug fixes and content restoration. It's called Human Noble Background Immersion by Dunde, and it offers a comprehensive enhancement to the Human Noble origin story.
Given your expertise and dedication to enhancing the Dragon Age experience, I believe this mod could benefit from your insight. Perhaps you might consider reviewing it, providing feedback, or even collaborating to further refine its features. Your contributions have significantly improved the game for many, and your perspective on this mod could be invaluable.
Hello ForestBear0. Thank you for the message. Yes, I know the mod - a good effort, a pity it wasn't finished - inspired by some of the bugfixes from it, I created similar fixes for a few things, which are: the players' items in the bedroom chest and Duncan's placement during the introductory cutscene/conversation (I forgot to mention this one in my 1.7 summary, there were a lot of fixes). The praying guards issue was taken care of by Qwinn as I remember. There are a few other things I might provide similar fixes for.
From my information, it seems @dunde doesn't have access to the mod's resources and doesn't work on the mod anymore. And I have in plans my own Cousland Origin expansion, very plot-driven and lore friendly, I believe it will add even more drama to the Human Noble story. But as I said, I may create a few more fixes for the issues spotted by the HNB's author.
I had an idea that might fit well with your plans: expanding the storyline of Iona and her daughter Amethyne. Right now, finding Amethyne in the Alienage is a touching moment, but it feels like a missed opportunity. What if the player could help Amethyne in some way—offering support, helping her, or giving closure? This would add emotional depth to the story, showing the impact of the Cousland tragedy on those of lower birth, and creating a more immersive and meaningful experience for players.Just a thought—let me know what you think!
I see, this was something @dunde planned to create. I agree it was weird that the Human Noble character cannot talk to Amethyne - the other characters wouldn't know who she is, but not the Cousland. It'd certainly be an immersive addition, so I like the idea.
As it's not directly related to Blick's Fixes, you can write to me about this and other ideas on PM - it'll be easier to discuss additional concepts like this.
Hi Blick. I am trying your nice fixes, and I noted a minor bug. After the intro scene with Leliana (fight in the tavern) it seems to me that you end up with an extra enchanted dagger in inventory. In my case one is equipped by Leliana, and I have other two in inventory, because one I got in Korcari Wilds (I checked before entering the tavern).
Hi BlickFixes, jsut want to note here that you fix of Leliana / Marjolaine dialogue does not work. I talked to her and listened to her story about Marjolaine but during random encounter with assassins she always skips dialogue and quest is not added. Maybe you could check those files again, for now I just deleted those dlg files from folder.
Another user -@TahosHawke, reported the issue, that's why the hotfix was created. For the conversation to work, one needs to replay the conversation about Leliana's past with the hotfix installed, because a certain plot flag is being set in that dialogue, which is crucial in the conversation from the random encounter. And the plot flags are there in all the relevant .dlg files, I checked it today once again.
I usually come to Nexus once every 6 months to see what new mods have been uploaded since the last time I checked for Dragon Age and Mass Effect games. Granted for Mass Effect there is a Discord server that has a bot which informs each time a new mod gets uploaded, not sure if such a server exists for Dragon Age, it did in the past but it was deleted due to some admin drama.
And since we are almost half way into 2025 I decided to check a bit early what I missed for DA games and was I impressed when I found all your mods one after the next and then I discovered this one. Amazing amazing work, I can not wait for my next playthrough where I'll include pretty much 90% of the mods you uploaded so far! Looking forward for more!
DA: Origins mods are updated or added almost every day - you may want to check the page more often, the game has such a loyal playerbase that it keeps the game strong
Thank you for your words - there are certainly more things to come. I admit I want to show something to the current Bioware and their overseers from EA - one shouldn't forget about the series' foundation, one should build upon it. They didn't, with each next game they strayed farther and farther from what made the first game great. What has become of such direction, I'll take pity not to mention, everyone can see it for themselves.
That I cannot accept, that's why I'm not joking when I say I'm motivated like the Warden from the trailers to do what I can for Origins. For the players like you and for Bioware of old, whose games, once, I could buy without looking.
Hello, Blick! It's me again :D It might be related to your latest update since I see some Leliana changes there.
The issue is with the random encounter for Leliana in the Forest Stream. After you finish the encounter and the conversation starts, it runs smoothly up until the moment the leader scrambles away. Then, Leliana begins to speak with a single line, 'It's the x-person, it has to be'. After that, the dialog ends immediately and the companion quest has no chance of triggering (at least there is no journal update on the screen, and since there was no dialog you don't know what that's about). I have removed leliana.dlg and leliana.dlb from your mod, and redid the encounter. Now the conversation plays out normally and the quest triggers correctly.
Just in case - you heard her out when she was telling her story, right? If so, I think I know what's this about. Thank you for reporting it, as always, I'm going to post a hotfix within one day if an issue appears.
Or should I say, in around twenty minutes after reading your message ;)
Hi, Blick! Thanks for being so swift about implementing the hotfix. I don't have Leliana join me too often this time around, so I had to go far back in saves to find a point before the conversation. Yes, both times I did listen to her story. I can confirm that your fix is working. I even saw an extra option about Orlais along the one 'I won't let my friends be hurt' (paraphrase), which was not there before. It still does not fix my current save as I suppose it is looking for a flag that was set in the camp file which was updated in the Hotfix, so my workaround for now is to remove your leliana.dlg and .dlb file to get the quest triggered correctly, and hopefully I will be able to progress it after restoring those files (little shenanigans there!). Anyhow, thanks for your efforts and creations. I will let you know if I stumble upon anything else.
Hey, providing hotfixes is my duty if an issue comes of the latest update. And as I suggest in the description - it's best to start a new game, because as you notice, one conversation may require a plot flag which was added by the latest update - and it does not work retrospectively. In this particular case - one has to start the specific conversation with Leliana in the camp for the correct plot flag to be set.
I appreciate your words and your vigilance - besides honest words of appreciation, activity of the players is very important. If you notice new bugs, which haven't yet been discovered, in Origins, Awakening and DLCs - let me know as well. The more hidden and persistent a bug is, the more satisfying it is to fix it
Make sure you don't have any duplicates of those around 20 .are files from the IA compatiblity folder. Those .are files contain both the IA and Qwinn's additions to them. So it means removing/making a backup of the same files from your IA folder. Load order also works - it's enough if you add a letter to the folder with my mod, so it loads after the IA folder. So, for example, z_Blick's Fixes does the trick.

I see. Out of curiosity, what are the 1.11 and 1.12 versions of?
