What im about to say would be a lot of work but I think itd be revolutionary. So do you know of historic tapestries which detailed history? It'd be amazing if you'd do that for each special location, show the cousland history in theirs, show redcliffs in its, fort drakens in its. if you'd like ideas for each of these id be happy to spitball some thoughts
Would have been cool, BUT: 1. I don't do textures, these ones are from another mod (see Requirements tab). 2. To implement this kind of idea in the game, you'll need to make new tapestry props AND then replace the current tapestries in all affected locations, so there are no accidental Cousland tapestries in the Temple of Sacred Ashes etc etc. If you want them to be in different sizes, you'll probably also need to make a new light map for every location, so they don't stand out as too light in dark areas. This will also make the new mod incompatible with any other that also edits locations, e.g. add new quest items, merchants, chests etc. All tapestries are props, so all of the above would require re-exporting all levels with tapestries through the DAO Toolset's level editor (using core resource files which are only available for the base game anyway). Maybe, someone else will implement it one day :3
Thank you for this. Am I correct in assuming that the two folders labeled "vanilla" are just resources to use while comparing / renaming files, and they are not actually supposed to be a part of the override? It seems obvious, but I'm just making sure......

Thanks! Wouldn't be as gorgeous without GuyVolker's textures.
