Sorry for the crappy picture situation! My game frequently crashes at the camp ambush, and while I have an idea of what's causing it, I haven't gotten around to figuring out a fix.
I have (had) the same problem, do tell if you find any solution. I have also had this problem in Caridin's Cross (shriek ambush). Just so it is said, when I removed the shriek texture from Unofficial Remaster things got a little better. But I am not entirely sure that alone caused these problems.
I think in my case it's the Sten of the Beresaad mod. That sounds insane, but one of the officially reported bugs for that mod is that it causes a CTD during the camp ambush. I don't have the unofficial remaster or any similar mods, and I haven't run into issues elsewhere, so I can't comment on that unfortunately.
