Even with the LAA patch, reduced affinity, no AA, medium-low graphics, and no other visual mod, it was this mod that pushed my system over the edge into the realm of constant crashing every hour or so. Still would highly recommend it because it's just that good of eye candy. Will not have Morrigan in my party unless this is installed <3
Sorry, you have to deal with it! I wish I knew coding so I could rework the DAO engine and fix it for everyone. Did you install the 4GB patch? That should stop crashing.
Yeah the LAA patch = the 4gb patch. But no worries, I think I tentatively solved it a few days ago by using the GOG version instead of Steam version. After weeks of battling instabilities and texture issues, I finally have a rock stable game that can run for 5 hours straight without issue. No clue what happened, but now I can use all your mesh replacers in peace <3
Is there a way that I could get a tutorial on how to use the compiler and to install any real character mod similar to this. I've been trying for 5 hours and I've been running in circles it feels like.
I'm assuming you mean chargenmorphcompiler? You won't need it for this mod unless you are downloading the file that allows you to play as Morrigan.
But aside from that you are going to download the file and extract it using a program like WinRaR and drop it into your modding directory. The location may vary depending on where you purchased the game and what your Drive name is called. For example, mine is:
That is how you will install most mods; that will be all it takes.
As for you ChargenMorphCompiler, if you are downloading mods that add things to character creation such as hair, faces, eyes, etc... You will download all the files you want to use. And extract them into separate folders. They need to be in separate folders because they will overwrite each other. (might be easiest to install all the other mods and save these for last. It's been a while since I've used compiler but you will boot it up and navigate to the folder that has all those files. (for example Downloads) Once They have been extracted. You will click something along the lines of compile files and it should combine all chargemorphfiles from those mods into one. Then you will take that file and place it in the override folder directory like the other mods.
Hope that helps! It can be a bit confusing at first but once you get it modding DAO is pretty easy.
I have a problem with her hair disappearing sometimes. Yesterday it was there, today I load the game and it's gone. It's just displaying game's default scalp over her own instead of the actual hair mesh. There might be a conflict with female noble clothing retextures, particularly I've noticed that her hair comes back after deleting textures for nbla, nblb, and nblc outfits. I have no idea how a conflict is even possible as there are no conflicting files. Is there any way to fix this?
That is a weird issue. Those files shouldn't have anything to do with her. search in your override folder for "hf_har_DAI_Mor_0.msh" "hf_har_DAI_Mor_0.mmh" and "hf_genfl_morrigan.mor" to make sure you don't have any duplicates. Those are the only files that should cause an issue if you have more than one.
You will download and run the program. Then locate your daorigins.exe mine is in (C:\Program Files\EA Games\Dragon Age\bin_ship) and click it. It will auto install.

EDIT: already figured it out
'mmh' and 'msh' as 'hf_har_DAI_Mor_0'
'mao' as 'pn_har_DAI' and 'tga' as 'uh_har_DAI_Hairtexture' and it will work! ;) Just checked in game
