Hi Bleemak! Thank you for this mod, it's one of my absolute must-haves! I don't suppose you're taking requests, cause it'd be really great if there were alternatives to (maybe) the camp's music (wailing can get on one's nerves if spending too much time at camp) and Vigil's Keep music (Hissing Wastes cuts short awkwardly). Thank you again!
Hey, I really like this mod. But I have a question. In the latest file you wrote "shortened kissing theme". It is still VERY long. So maybe something doesn't work or we have a very different view of "short" :D
Okay I almost never comment on anything- but this is just amazing! I love the music you chose it fits wonderfully to origins! So yee I'm just here to say great job and thank you for this mod! :D
Great idea, love the Inquisition music to bits! BTW, would it be possible to just add DAI music instead of replacing vanilla? That way the game would cycle through all music files - DAO and DAI - and play both alternately.
Unfortunately no. I cannot add any music to the game, only replace what there is. Sure, I could change some of the themes to back, but I think it wouldn't fit. For example having both Descent and the OG ost playing in the Deep Roads would make it a bit disconnected, at least in my opinion.
If you want to edit the original one to have Inquisition soundtrack to play only sometimes, Setiweb has a good guide here on how to do it.
Aah, I understand and thanks for your quick reply. Guess you're right, maybe a mixture of both game music styles isn't really the best of ideas given the different approach to atmosphere. Setiwebs guide looks a bit laborious as I would have to go through the procedure for every single track I want. That's as I understand it by short skimming over the description so no combined tracks for me I guess
I love the idea of this, only the other way around. Do you think you might try your hand at adding the Origins music into Inquisition someday, of you've got the time? I'm having a hard time getting into it, and I think some music from the first game would help soften the transition.
Unfortunately I have no idea how to do that. For this, I used a specific program that was created for this, called Dragon Age Music editor, but it only works for DAO and it's expansion packs. Because of that, this process wasn't hard, it just took some time.
As Inquisition uses totally different engine, I have no idea where to even start.
Wow, thank you very much for this mod, I've been looking for something like this for a long time! After so many replays of DAO I got a little tired of listening to the same music again and again (same story about BGII). Will surely use this during my next playthrough!
I check out the mod and everything seems to work fine for me. I noticed though that music during the fight with Brood Mother in Dead Trenches in DAO seems to be too quiet. Also is the any ambient music in Fort Drakkon in the end of the game? Nothing played when I checked it out.
Sorry to say that both problems originate from the game itself. Even without any mod, the boss theme with Brood Mother is very quiet and there really isn't anything I could do for it. And in the base game, there wasn't any ambient sound in Fort Drakkon. And I cannot add any extra music files for the game, only modify what there is. And I can only make the new music quieter, not louder.
