Until Steam updates Steam Ultimate version you will need to replace the DAOrigins.exe with this one. The Steam version has not been patched since it was uploaded to Steam. You can't just apply the 4G Patch because the Steam version is encrypted to mitigate piracy.
If you have any other version (like GOG) than the Steam ultimate, then you should ignore this and just apply the 4GB patch yourself on \Dragon Age Origins\bin_ship\DAOrigins.exe
The patch will automatically make a back up of your DAOrigins.exe for you.
Thank you so much, this saved me from having to uninstall all my mods all over again, I thought I had just messed up my order, textures were gone for the blood of enemies and my game would crash or refuse to load saves. I verified my game files, 1 was missing and then I used your mod and the patch, as well as changing settings with my graphics card and now it works perfectly! Thank you!
The best mod ever! I have been trying everything since November 2021, trying to keep DAO from freezing up. I have tried the the Steam, GOG, and the version direct from Origin and they all froze up at the least opportune moments. I am now able to play the GOG version with this updated exe! I imagine it will work with the other versions as well. Thanks so much!!!!
You are spreading misinformation. 1. You arent suppose to use this with GOG. Steam exe is encoded so he posted decoded exe. For 4gb LAA patch to be applied. 2. Gog is already decoded. So applying 4gb LAA patch is not a problem and should be done on gog exe
how do i use this mod, the vortex says that dragon age origins is failed and when try to fix it just comes with errors, but my game keeps crashing while fighting bandits in lothering.

I was driving myself crazy trying to make the patch work. Thank you so much. I don't even really use any mods; just the font for the console commands and the additem script. 16gigs of ram, a 4GHz processor and a video card a decade newer than the game and I was still constantly crashing throughout the tower at Ostegar and Loathering thereafter.

Thank you thank you! I was saddened when I realized the dropbox link on the Steam forums for the patch friendly version of DAOrigins 1.05 expired. Just to be clear: I still need to patch this, correct? I went ahead and dropped it into bin_ship and ran LAA and the game launches.
