if anyone is capable of helping please message me. i may be a little slow to respond however as i do not check my messages often. Thank you for any help you may be able to provide.
Hi, I really hope this Mod Manager will work for my system, however I need a little extra guidance getting it set up. I've extracted the CandorManager folder to the desktop, downloaded the DAO module and extracted the file to the 'module' folder that's already in the Candor folder (the instructions say to create a module folder so I'm not sure why it already exists and has a BaldursGate3-1.0-SNAPSHOT-all.jar file in it)
When I fire up Candor there are no available games listed so I added the new game executable at - C:\GOG Games\Dragon Age Origins\DAOriginsLauncher.exe I receive an error message - Warning, No module was found for this game. Defaulting to Generic Module, this may have unforseen consequences. For more information, please visit innoxium.co.uk/candor/modules (which by the way is a dead site link)
If I bypass the module issue it does load the Candor app, but I'm still not sure what the issues may be down the road. Can you please provide more screenshots of the set up etc to make sure I've installed it right. Thanks.
Thanks for making this! I was having a heck of a time getting Win10 to install .Net Framework 3.5, which the other installers need. This installer doesn't! Thanks again!
I decided on using Java to allow it to be used on Linux and MacOS also, but I never considered that people may have issues running .NET, so i'll take that as a bonus! XD
I have some updates planned (mostly bugfixes currently)
I didn't know it was a .Net problem until I had to repair my system a week ago, and now it just won't reinstall. Apparently, it's a well known problem and has been for years.
I wanted to report a 'problem' (not bug) with a mod not installing right. Of Noble Cast (https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/395) won't install correctly with Candor Mod Manager. It also cannot be installed with some of the other installers, but apparently works with DAupdater. I think it's because the mod needs to immediately call a script to when the game starts. I can't call this a bug, as it could be unique to the mod, but it could effect other mods as well. I have installed several other mods with Candor and they appear to be working (not sure about all of them as I started a new game and it'll be while before most of them start up).
Also, the current version of Candor does not allow you to select a Mods Folder, so you might want to update the Description Page.
If you don't mind, I'd like to put in a Feature Request, for your consideration. Could you set up a 'batch' function of mods that get installed/uninstalled together? By this I mean a function were we could select several mods (that we already know don't conflict) and set them as a batch? I know if used incorrectly this could cause problems, but I think most modders have a common set of go-to mods they use, so it may be of use to others besides myself. Sometimes though, you find a mod that conflicts and you want to play it anyway, so having a batch uninstall/reinstall feature would be useful. (Another way to implement this is a function that just clones the default \\Bioware\Dragon Age folder and sets up a base install replacement folder (with subfolders) that you can install new mods into, and then allows you to change the name back so you can return to your previous build.) I have no idea how much work would be involved, so If you're not interested, thanks for at least reading the request.
