About this mod
Two options to improve Sten's sword, Asala, so it'll still be useful later in the game. The first makes it upgradeable from all the way to Tier 7 Dragonbone, the second changes the material to fixed Tier 6 Silverite.
- Permissions and credits
Sten says that Asala "was made for [his] hand alone" and "forged from rare blue steel" and yet when you find it, it's only ordinary steel. You can get the far better Yusaris early in the game, so I've never actually had Sten use Asala. It seems rather anticlimactic that you have a whole quest to find this sword and when you do it's not anything useful for the endgame. It's probable that it won't even be useful when you find it. For lore reasons, I'd like to keep Sten equipped with Asala as much as possible, so I've made two different options to increase its quality.
There are two options for this mod. Only download and install one.
Installation
Download either the Upgradeable or Silverite versions of the mod, then unzip the folder and place it in your override folder (usually found at Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override). You can only use one version at a time.
Compatibility
If you have any other mods that modify gen_im_wep_mel_gsw_stn.uti, you'll need to delete that file from those mods if you want to use this one.
Important Note
If you've already gotten Asala the weapon (not the gift), then this mod will make no difference in the existing sword. In order to get Better Asala, you'll need to use the console to add a new copy of the sword to your inventory. Download the AddItem With Console Improved mod and enable the console on your game. If you have Better Asala - Upgradeable you can use the additemwmat command to specify a material higher than steel. You can safely sell or destroy the old sword.
If you've already gotten Asala with this mod installed but want to go back to the default steel Asala, you'll need to uninstall the mod and then use the console to create a new version of the sword.

Asala is so big in my screenshots because I'm using tmp7704's Rescaled Swords. The colors are from Loc_n_lol's Alternative Arms and Armor Tints.
