Hi thanks for the preset. It improves my game and without performance loss that i can notice.
Funny thing im using it too in Skyrim. The new Reshade version can´t work with the new ENB series. But yours works like a clock and now i have two games with modern grapichs in my old laptop.
Hi, I'm wanting to use this in conjunction with reshade presets like the inki one you mentioned in your comments but I can't for the life of me figure out how to get both to work?
I have installed the version 3.4 of reshade you mentioned and then installed yours. But then only yours will work and normal reshade won't activate and isn't useable or able to open at all.
I have also tried the opposite and installed yours first then reshade 3.4, but then only normal reshade will work and yours won't activate.
How to get both to work together? Thanks in advance
Hi, The reshade with sweetfx works through the preset file in the sweetfx folder, you make changes through that.
The reshade menu is mainly for minor functions with the combination and only processes the effects from the preset file. To get the two to work together you have to have the reshade with sweetfx version first, then you can apply the upgraded reshade version 3.4 no higher. That gives you the menu interface, but there are no shaders installed for the menu, it just is processing the sweetfx and the older reshade combination through the sweetfx setting file. Do the install here as per instructed through the description, then follow the inky's outline to get them working properly
Hi, I'm attempting to use Inky's Vibrant Fantasy Preset Redux with this mod, but the preset looks exactly the same as the 'default' preset. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong—I have Reshade 3.4.0 installed and everything. Is there any advice you can offer me?
I've installed following your instructions to download this mod with the files specifically for DAO, updated to ReShade 3.4.0, and everything seems ok and I can bring up the reshade menu but no effects are actually applying, graphics still appear the same as default.
When I follow the tutorial steps to create a new preset, the ReShade.fx and Sweet.fx aren't listed at all, and checking the logs reveals a 'Failed to compile' error for each of the .fx files, as well as several 'warning X4717: type prefixes for annotations are deprecated' errors for all the files under the SweetFX folder.
I've already tried following your instructions to install dx9 to C:/dx, as well as completely uninstalling and reinstalling all the reshade/sweetfx files, and my drivers are all up to date but I'm still getting the same issue.
Actually you don't want to upgrade the reshade with sweetfx, the newest reshade updates are not compatible with reshade with sweetfx and will break it. Remove the files and restore the original download to correct it.
Try removing all references to reshade and sweetfx, then just install the base files without any updates. You won't have menu access as the adjustments are made through the settings file. Try that. If you still have an issue with the base files I would attempt a video card driver update in case that is causing the issue. Let me know.
I do have an enb with sweetfx that should work, if you like to try that instead They are fairly generic, mainly just the settings files but you may like the added enb effects, if not I can help you alter it. Just download and place the files in the game folder with the game exe, same as the reshade with sweetfx, just don't mix them. https://www.nexusmods.com/halflife2/mods/9
In general I really like the look of this Reshade, but I've noticed that it makes my game considerably grainy. This is especially noticeable where text is displayed.
The specs of grainy-ness are very apparent to me, and the no reshade screenshot looks super crisp in comparison. Are there any settings that would help with this?
Hi, This could be caused by LUMASHARPEN. When combined with HDR it can cause an issue in the reshade.
What I would suggest is to use the settings file from my fo4 one here: Download this one: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22029 Open the download, goto the sweetfx folder and extract the SweetFX_settings.txt from it.
Then place that SweetFX_settings.txt in the game folder with the files from this mod in the sweetfx folder, overwrite the old one. Steam C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dragon Age (Ultimate Edition)\bin_ship\sweetfx Origin C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age\bin_ship\sweetfx
That settings file should give better effects and be more clear.
Or you can alter the existing file and turn down the lumasharpen strength
There wasn't much of a difference between these two and the previous Reshade screenshot in terms of grainy-ness. Sorry if I'm being nitpicky here! Grainy games can often give me migraines so I'm just trying to find the setting that's causing this.
It is a truly great looking lighting preset and perhaps I am just being boneheaded, likely in fact, but after doing the reshade update it ends up looking rather saturated with a very obvious orange tone and thus it feels like I am missing something when comparing it yours and others. So my question is what is the "old ReShade.fx" that is referred to in the description? because even after the update there is only one file with that name in the bin_ship folder. Also do you have a recommended setting for the in game gamma? It is sitting at 0.50 for me, a little dark for me but I do not want to go the other way and completely blow out the colours, haha.
The reshade.fx is contained in the file that you download. If you look at the file contents under the downloads, it is the first file listed in the download contents. It is what is causing the oversaturation issue when you update as the newer reshade does not see it as reshade but rather another fx file and as a result doubles the effects. When you update the reshade it will create an ingame menu, in this menu both the reshade.fx and sweet.fx will be listed. At that point you can disable the old fx file in the menu or delete it from the folder where you placed the files and it should set it to normal.
Or just leave out the reshade update. I'm actually gonna move the update info to the bottom as it runs just as well without it and saves people the hassle of having to fiddle with the files. If you want to keep the update to reshade the best way would be to just remove the old reshade.fx file from the folder you placed the files in.
As far as your gamma, adjust it to the best setting that suits you.
Thank you for your patience and help, I do appreciate it. And it was clearly just as easy as you had said but for whatever reason I was under the illusion that running the update would create a new ReShade.fx file, haha.
Hi. I'd like to use this but I can't find either Origin or Steam folder because my Dragon Age is installed from a disc and I only have a Bioware folder where all my other mods are. What do I do?
Hi, Check the properties of your shortcut launch file for the game location. or Goto the start button and scroll through the listed programs to the dragon age launcher, right click and select more, then select open file location. That should take you to the folder location. Once there place the files as directed but in that location.

Here's a comparison of the title text:

I tried turning off lumasharpen and then tried your FO4 settings and here are the results:

Also what video card are you using?
But SMAA was the issue! Here's a screenshot in all it's crisp, non-grainy glory:
No SMAA
Thanks for the help!
Nice card.
The same thing happens with ENB, but that's the fxaa in that one.
Not sure why that happens.
Take care and anything else just let me know.
