Hi there! I downloaded fem Hawke with bow, but for some reason she decided that her weapons of choice are sword & shield. I have no idea what caused it, but since I headcanon that she is a mage, bow is a bit less problematic to avoid attention and help her brother. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Hm, I've never had an issue with that, but let's think... Could you tell me which skin tone are you using? Also, have you made sure that there's no mod conflict (ie you're not using another mod that's changing the pre100cr_soldier_gossip1.utc file)? Oh, and have you installed this mod before entering Ostagar for the time (arriving there with Duncan and meeting Cailan)?

I use light skin, I checked and there is no mod conflict. I installed this mode after I entered Ostagar (I used my 2 completed journeys to check the mod work because I wanted to make sure everything is ready before I start my next playthrough)

Ok, so the issue is that you have already entered Ostagar. The way the game works, NPCs' gear is set the moment you enter an area for the first time. Faces and some other stuff can be changed later, but not their equipment. Good news is, everything should work correctly if you start a new playthrough, you can also use an earlier save now to check it out - before you've finished your origin, start from there, get to Ostagar and see if your Hawke is equipped with a bow now.

I'm glad these mod's exist but it should but there's one slight issue.

there's really no point in using mage hawke or Bethany since they do not participate in the battle of ostagar, because they would have been caught by the Templars if they did so if you listen closely to Carver's dialogue at the start of the prologue.

At the beginning of DA2, after fending off some darkspawn Bethany accusingly asks why they waited so long to run.

If Hawke is a warrior or Rogue then Carver says this "why are you looking at us, We've been running since ostagar"

However If Hawke is a mage, Carver will respond with "Why are you looking at me? I've been running since ostagar."

it only really make sense to install a warrior / Rogue Hawk of your choice along with Aveline since she participate in the Battle of ostagar.

I am aware of that and I didn't create Bethany or mage Hawke at first, however, they were requested by mod users, so I added them. Bethany's under optional files precisely because of that, she's not a mandatory part of the mod. Personally, I play without her and with a rogue Hawke, so I stick to "canon", but if people want to headcanon that Bethany or mage Hawke was there, I won't deny them the opportunity :) Hope you enjoy the mod!

Hey, could you please tell me which .mor files should I delete from Dragon Age Redesigned to be able to use this mod?

I believe you don't need to delete anything. I've assigned them .mor files with custom names, so there shouldn't be any issues with compatibility :) Just in case though, by default Hawke's NPC would be using hf_pre100_sold_gossip1.mor, Carver's hm_pre100_sold_gossip2.mor, Aveline's hf_pre100_sold_fem1.mor and Bethany's hf_pre100_nurse.mor. Like I said, you should be fine without removing anything, but do let me know if you'll run into any problems, I'll try my best to help!

To be on the safe side I removed the morphs you mentioned, and your mod is working perfectly. Thank you! :)

Pretty pretty damn cool. And the level of detail! Wow! But why did you never add Bethany?

Would you ever consider making a mod that adds Leandra, Wesley, Bethany, Hawke, Carver, and Aveline to Lothering. I know mods already exist to do just that, but they aren't consistent in appearance with your mod. I'd really love to see them in Lothering as well.

I could try and do something like that, sure :) Or is there a specific mod you'd like it to be consistent with? Perhaps something could be done in that regard.

Just with yours. Other mods have them looking radically different from your versions. I was thinking having Wesley replace one of the generic templars in the Chantry, with Aveline replacing one of the women in the Chantry closest to where you put him. Hawke, Carver, Leandra, and Bethany could be wherever seems right to you.

EDIT: I don't know if this is in your power, but would you happen to know how to import weapon models from DAII into Origins?

All right, I'll try to work on that :) Well, I'm not an expert in importing, never tried with a weapon, but I managed a hair though, so I know basics, I guess... What exactly are you interested in? I know there are some mods with ports from DAII, perhaps it's already out there.

EDIT: I just discovered that Loincloth Fashion ported the weapons and then some into Origins. I apologize if my request caused any delay, but suffice to say that the only request that remains is for the aforementioned characters to appear in Lothering. If you're still willing that is.

Are you still planning to add the mentioned characters to Lothering? There is already a mod that replaces the helpful villager next to the inn, and that npc's voice actor is the same as male Hawke's. The other Hawke family replacers change the appearance of quest giving npcs but not the voice like yours and this is very weird, so if you would create a similar mod for Lothering that would be wonderful :D

Hi there! Yeah, I haven't forgotten about that. You might call it a work in progress. My problem is simply that I'm overly ambitious and figured that, hey, wouldn't it be cool to have an actual conversation with the twins? Hawke mentions in the Mark of the Assassin that they never saw the Warden, but why not talk to Carver and Bethany? So I came up with a rather long conversation, several dialogue options and so on... And that means a lot of lines to record from da2. And some of them appear only with GW/Circle/Templar twin, or when you do a dlc in specific act, or when Hawke has specific personality... A ton of switching back and forth in the game to get it. And don't get me started on party banter - you just walk around with two companions, hoping that they'll finally give you that one line you need... My, sorry for all that complaining. Long story short, there's a lot of work to do, but yeah, I still plan to have it finished one day. Come on, Carver saying to the Warden "You didn't fare any better than I did the last time we faced darkspawn." or "If I did join the Wardens, you can be bloody sure I wouldn't run away" is just too precious and too Carver-like not to do it ;) Thank you for asking!

the best thing you could do is put them as npc in lothering, npc that speaks just a little thing when you talk to him those balloons on top of the head, and not like quest npc that does not change anything in the game

Silly question does not generate compatibility problems with the Battle Speech Party mod when using the Aveline mod ??? (https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4746)

It's not a silly question at all, I was worried about the exact same thing. You can make it compatible by deleting all .cut and .cub files from Battle Speech Party and leaving only clipt_generic_actions.ncs It worked for me, at least. If you encounter a problem with that, let me know and I'll try to help

Hi, sorry you've encountered such problem, I hope I can help! First of all, if you're using his DA2 clothes, make sure you installed them correctly. You can also try using the version with DAO armor, so we might find out what's the problem exactly. Could you tell me which skin tone are you using? And did you load the game before entering Ostagar or already in it? Character's equipment is set the moment you enter the area, so something might've gone wrong there. Replaced soldier most definitely should go back to his default armor if you enter Ostagar (for the first time) after uninstalling.

Not to be a pain... but could you make a version where it's just Carver and Aveline? As someone who plays a male mage Hawke having the female warrior is a tad... breaking.

Aveline is a standalone, you can download her as she is and everything should be fine. Now, for Carver, if female Hawke's voice is bothering you, I can turn some other NPC into him, if you want :)

Oh no. I meant I want a version that adds only Carver and no Hawke at all.

That's exactly what I meant as well :) Technically, you can just download Carver and then you'll have only him, no Hawke at all, but the NPC he's speaking to is using female Hawke voice in vanilla game, that's why I suggested turning another NPC into Carver, so he wouldn't talk to someone with f!Hawke voice. Just Carver, no Hawke :) Sorry if I haven't made that clear in the fist place.

Wow! I never realized the connection there! The Ostagar warrior has a more "commoner" accent to her, unlike Lady Hawke. I guess the dialogue makes a bigger impact than I thought. What a talented voice actress!

I wasn't quite sure about it as well at first, I think that line "Sounds like the perfect time to get drunk, if you ask me" made me realize that that's female Hawke's voice ;) That's the main reason I thought about making this mod in the first place. Respect for voice actress for sure!

Sorry, I can't tell - if I want just Carver, no Hawke, is there any way to have Carver's DA2 voice? Can I use the Conversations for Female Hawke, or would that dialogue make it sound like he's related to this random soldier - does he call her sister, etc? What was the "her pa" line replaced with?

The mod looks great, creating all these variations must have been a lot of work!

Hey there! Conversations for Female Hawke does not indicate that the two of them are related, "her pa" was replaced simply with "Wonderful", so I think it should work for you just fine :) You can go to the video section (change Show items by to Mod users) and there's "DAO Female Hawke in Ostagar", you can check that out to see for yourself.

It took some time, sure, but what's the point of having your Hawke in DAO if he/she doesn't look at all like your Hawke? Of course it would be impossible for just me to make all of custom Hawkes but I wanted to give mod users as many different options to choose from as possible. Glad to see it's appreciated :)
