About this mod

v 1.1. A batch of color schemes for armor and weapons. Overrides many of the sets in the Universal Dye Kit. Individual .tnt files -- you can rename accordingly to pick and choose which schemes you want to use and which existing slots you want to replace. Requires nezroy's Universal Dye Kit (many thanks to nezroy for that excellent in-game utility).

Version 1.1 adds several new variations and options to the original upload. Probably the final version.

This is a handful of color schemes for use with armor and weapons. Overrides some of the dyes in the Universal Dye Kit. You can rename accordingly and pick and choose which schemes you want to use and which existing slots you want to replace.

TO INSTALL you should simply place the files in your override folder. Assuming your Universal Dye Kit install is still in ERF format, these files should successfully override as they would be higher in the hierarchy. If you have already extracted that ERF you may simply want to replace the .tnt files (might be a good idea to rename the originals beforehand so you can revert back if you wish).

NOTE that I was unable to upload these to the "Tint Links" website prescribed in the UDK forum (https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/1390/?tab=forum&topic_id=217507). The website and tint-links currently linked from that forum do not function -- you cannot retrieve users' tints anymore -- and so I decided to upload them here as a separate mod (I think I am compliant with the permissions as designated in the UDK mod page -- at least I hope so). In any case, uploading here, as a simple override package, is perhaps the most elegant way.

The tint files -- in their currently named state -- override all of the dyes in the "color dyes" section of the Dye Kit, plus the Custom 1, Custom 2, Custom 3, Custom 4, Custom 6, Custom 7, and Custom 8. If you don't want to use the entire package, then you can pick and choose which tint files you want to apply, and can modify which Dye Kit slot is taken by simply renaming the individual .tnt files accordingly.

The Red, Green, and Blue replacement tint schemes  are iridescent and/or pearlescent colors that look best on shiny armors. The files for these are t3_nez_dy1.tnt , t3_nez_dy2.tnt, and t3_nez_dy3.tnt. The "Purple" slot replacement -- t3_nez_dy4.tnt -- is a more standard armor with shiny teal or turquoise accents. The last four under the "colored dyes" set are similar variations of the first four.

The "Custom" or "User #" replacement series of tints work well on both armor and weaponry. (Files are named t3_nez_us1.tnt, t3_nez_us2.tnt and so forth.) These sets are pretty straightforward antique-silver, dark steel, pale gold, and brighter gold combinations -- along with dark green, deep blue, and brown colors for the parts that are typically leather and piping (for example, sword hilts and glove fringe). Custom 6 is nearly identical to Custom 2, except custom 6 does not re-color the "leather" part of the tint map (the third tier designated as "B" in the tint-maps). Similarly, Custom 8 is nearly identical to Custom 1, with the same omission as Custom 6. These work best for some configurations where you want the brighter silvers and golds but it's better not to apply the dark blue or  green leather/piping.

Custom 4 is nearly unchanged from the default package in nezroy's mod, except that I altered the gold color to be a little more yellow and pale. There is no override for Custom 5 (User 5) in this mod, so don't look for it.

MANY THANKS to nezroy for the absolutely useful and essential Universal Dye Kit.
