Thank you for your interest in the mod and to everyone who has downloaded, endorsed, and left comments!
I'm finished modding DOA. I have enjoyed my time modding and with the community here but it is time for me to move on. The readme should answer any questions and help avoid any problems with the mod.
Thank you again for your interest in the mod and I hope that you enjoy it!
Loving everything about this...getting to play a common human, having the game start a bit quicker, and new armor and weapons that look so lovely. Thank you for putting this together. I was initially uncertain about the optional armors because it's not in its own folder like the main file is, but unzips as several folders. But I saw where you stated further down there should be two folders in override and two dazips. So I just created a new folder in override and put all the Roguelass folders in there (hope I just made sense lol). But anyway it all works wonderfully and I love it.
Make sure you installed the mod correctly. That you installed the extracted dazip with DAUpdater (not a mod manager) and then placed the "Human Commoner Origin" folder into the right override folder (the one under 'documents'
It will replace the dwarven noble, so there will still only be six origins showing on the character creation screen. Also if you have another mods that alter origins, like the Dalish mage, it won't work.
I can't use the console to add items>.< everything looks good and even have the armor it comes with a set of armor and (sword, shield, crossbow) if im just dumb please let me know
I want this mod to be a must have for my immersion on making new characters, so being able to use this mod to the fullest would be great even though it would only be for Ostagar...
I have downloaded you Mod and playing with it. Some Dialogues from Origins are working on German (maybe the commoner was at the very end of development cancled and some dialogues were already voiced in other languages).
Actually, I want to ask, if have any idea how you could give your Mod a language choice - based on the language settings of the game. I began to translate your Mod into German in my Game. Now, the toolset is working it is a fascinating thing to do something like this.
Since the vanilla dialogues are voiced in English it makes sense they are voiced in other languages. But I have no idea how any of the language or translation stuff works. I've had a few mods translated into other languages but that was done by other people. Sorry I can't be more help.
I think I'm having a problem spawning the custom gear in this mod. I either installed the optional file incorrectly or I'm typing the command in wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If you are doing either one of those things, I can't help you. The optional file is a dazip and installs with DAUpdater. The equipment will automatically be in your inventory if you start the game with the file installed. You only need the console command if you install the optional file after starting the game.
I've had this mod sitting around for ages and want to finally pick it up because I just love how you put the Origin back in the game.
I know this is kind of a spoiler (and don't worry, I personally don't mind them) but... how does the human commoner react in terms of relationships? What I mean by that is, does the game acknowledge that you are not a noble and a commoner wouldn't be able to marry a certain character, or does the game think "human - noble - all set"? Sorry if I just missed the answer somewhere!
(I'm mainly asking because I'm thinking about who they could date when I play them heh)
"... does the game acknowledge that you are not a noble and a commoner wouldn't be able to marry a certain character..."
Yes. The human commoner designation was part of the vanilla game, the origin just wasn't implemented but all the scripting, plot flags, etc are there. The way it was used in dialogue was as the default answer, if you weren't a mage, dwarf, elf or noble. So I didn't have to do much to the base game but make it available.
Now, as an FYI, if you are planning on playing a female version of the human commoner and planning on romancing a character for which the designation of 'not noble' makes a difference, you might want to check out my Alistair's Revised Romance, not only does it add a lot to that particular romance but there is a human commoner expansion pack with dialogues and options that are relevant to that origin.
Hope that answered your question and enjoy the mod!
Hi Kajana, thanks so much for restoring the human commoner content!! I've played DA so many times, and now that I can play it on PC I'm excited to be able to try out options that would have never been available to me on console.
My question is to do with the armour/weapon expansion for this mod created by RogueLass. I've never modded DA before now, and I didn't have any problem installing the base mod through the dAUpdater, but even though I've tried putting the files from the armour/weapon expansion into both the override folder and the bin_ship folder. I can't manually add the items to my inventory through the console either. From the info I just gave, would you be able to tell me if there's something obvious I'm doing wrong here, or is that too vague?
You are welcome! Once you've played the game with mods... there is no going back.
Don't put anything in the bin_ship folder and make sure you have the right override folder. It isn't the one with the game files but the one in your documents folder. So for the origin and the clothing/armors you should have 4 files installed, 2 dazips and two files in override. That's the most obvious thing. If that's not it, try uninstalling, redownloading and reinstalling. I hope that helps.
The 'wynne' file are just dialogue files that add HC responses to when she asks about your background. I'm not sure how those conversations will go otherwise but it shouldn't be anything game breaking.
I've never played this Mod, I'll download it to endorse it and play it a bit later. Here this is when you realize that the same players make the games more enjoyable than the video game developer.

EDIT: Looks like the answer is "yes". She looks a bit weird, but it very well might be the shading since she's under a tree, so I guess we'll see.
