I fail to see what the point of this mod is. :/ The Dalish refer to the city elves like that because they dislike them and don't care about them. The Masked Empire book shows it clearly. If this Dalish/city elves conflict is removed, then a big part of the lore is lost :c Not all elves are friends in DA. The Dalish have no respect for city elves and have no reason to be nice to them. It's a nice idea, but ultimately goes against the purpose of the universe :v
Hey so I have some good news for you, it turns out this mod isn't necessary to run the game so you can play DAO without worrying about breaking your lore or whatever it is. Hope this helps!
The point of the mod is simply that a friend of mine wanted it. Personally, I think the conflict between the Dalish and the city elves is interesting and wish it was explored more than it is in game. However, my friend felt that the conflict between them was too realistic, and it made them uncomfortable. So I made this mod mostly for them and anyone else who might want it. Also, I didn't exactly make these elves suddenly love each other; I just removed some of the more scathing choices in words. I don't think that's enough to completely dismantle their complicated relationship.
Gotta be honest, I always appreciated this aspect of the game. Dragon Age has the tradition of showing that real life is rarely as black and white as it seems. The templars are bullies...BUT, when a blood mage becomes an abomination and starts slaughtering people, they're the first to come to the rescue. The Grey Wardens are heroes...BUT, they have no over-sight and are not afraid to use very extreme measures.
And then there's the elves. You listen to the Dhalish, you'd believe they were this incredibly wise, ancient race that had a Utopian society that was ruined by the damned dirt Shems...BUT, you pay attention and you see that they're xenophobobic to the point of disowning any elves that live in a city; and later revelations make it clear that while yes, they did have a beautiful kingdom and a powerful society...they also kept slaves and had just as many problems as anyone else.
I like that there are nuances and complexities beyond "elves victims, humans oppressors."
This in a nutshell. Then there are the Dwarves, who are like the collection of all the problems all the other races face rolled into one. Born under a bad sign, you are looked down upon but you are still "of the stone". Born under a good sign, you still have the whole petty warfare between houses. Decide to go topside? You are disowned forever by all of those people, bad sign or good.
You clearly put a lot of thought and effort into this. Very detailed mod description as well. It's interesting to see your reasoning for all the changes you made.
Thank you for taking the time to make this and share it with everyone.
Good mod. Just wanted to say though, it's Lanaya, not Gheyna. Gheyna is a dalish clan member, but shes not the keepers first. Lanaya is the one you ask about Zathrian and about the Dalish, etc etc.
Lanaya is the main source of information for learning about Zathrian, that true. But the Warden is able to ask Gheyna about what she knows about Zathrian as well. She obviously has less to say, but she still has some stuff to offer. I can update the description if you think I made that unclear though.

I love seeing other people give their reasons for why they change things, so I decided to do the same here.
