Update 1.7 is a major update which now includes Static Lighting (formerly No environmental light flicker) for all areas in the base campaign and DLC areas accessible from the base campaign. All still in modular labeled folders so you can pick and choose exactly what you want and don't want!
I've playtested with this a little and didn't notice any hits to performance. It is a lot of small files, but static lights put a lower load on the engine than animated lights, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ who knows. If you notice this degrades the performance of your game please let me know and I'll look into alternative methods of installation that might be more efficient.
Good lord thank you for making this mod! You're a life saver because those gods damned torches were driving me up the wall. The flickering was making me dizzy and trying to constantly shift camera angle to avoid looking at light sources was annoying as hell.
Bless your heart for creating this. Your work and effort are *very* much appreciated, thank you, really! <3
This is exactly the mod I was looking for! 😭 Thanks so much for your hard work. 😄
If it's not too much of a bother, would you consider taking a look at the Tower of Ishal (during the battle of Ostagar)? The flickering is really bad in there with all the standing torches. 🤢
Great mod! I only use the flicker removal parts, because the reduced fire effects are too reduced! :D - most notable in the Fade, causing firewalls to be almost invisible. So it's cool that this is modular, so people can choose to their own liking.
That being said, during my current playthrough with this mod, found an area that is not yet covered: the Orzammar Shaperate. Don't know if I missed others, but that one just really popped out.
So, hoping for an update soon, thank you kindly. May the Maker guide your steps.
I've added Orzammar interior and you can find the download under Updates!
tbh the reduced fire effects are an old holdover from before I figured out where the lights from the fires were baked in and how to turn them off, but as you say I'd rather let people pick and choose what they'd prefer so I've left it in. :) It's been a really long time since I've actually played through the game in full, and I hadn't thought about those fire walls! 😲
hi, really happy to find this mod, it makes the party camp experience much better! i was wondering if you could do an update to remove the flickering effects from the fires and standing lights in redcliffe castle?
Yeah, absolutely. Everything covered in this mod has been by specific request, as I can't personally gauge which areas/effects might cause issues for others, so if there are any other areas aside from Flemeth's hut you'd like to see covered just drop a list here and l'll add them to the to-do pile as well.
