    Sticky
Mod has been fixed thanks to the efforts of zanderb14. I didn't have the technical knowhow to fix it in the first place, as I was never good at DA modding. I'm a photoshop sorceress and just wanted to make something pretty. I also had to step away from mods and modding for several years because of RL problems. I'm happy to have this updated and out to those still playing this game however, please enjoy.

Will the altered rings transfer to awakening/dlc intact?

Late reply. But just in case anyone else is curious about this... There are items in the base Dragon Age main DLC that don't import into the other DLC (there are mods for that), I'm unsure if that includes any rings. This mod simply replaces the vanilla file and overrides, so if your game supports the specific ring being imported, this icon change will import as well. It won't make a difference.

For those using a Morrigan ring stats upgrade like Balanced Ring found here (recommended!) https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/5065/?tab=files

It's very easy to get the new icon (probably the best one in this pack) to show by using the GFF editor, the Neverwinter Nights 2 GFF editor, or presumably the toolset (though it is a bit of a nightmare to get it installed and working on windows 10). Note: With the Neverwinter Nights 2 GFF editor (recommended) for some reason you'll need to hit the enter key when editing the value rather than just clicking out or it won't save. No idea why.

Remove the gen_im_acc_rng_r09.uti from this mod (keep the DDS and everything else), keep the one from the other and in the GFF editor find the icon section and make the game draw from this mod's DDS file by removing the current (vanilla) icon setting and pasting ico_a0_morrigan_ring.dds as shown below.

This worked for me and presumably it would work for any of the other rings (using their respective UTI and DDS files). Obviously you'll need to keep the DDS files in the override or the game won't recognise it.

Disclaimer: I'm not a "professional" mod author, this is just what worked for me. I *highly* doubt however that this will cause any problems unless you mess around with the other values in the editor.

Anyway thank you for the lovely mod. Endorsed.

Yes, it's on the right-middle on the second sheet, silver with a blue background.

I see. I missed it because I think I was instinctively looking for the Circle of Magi insignia.

"Traditionally, these rings of lyrium-infused silver are given to each mage upon successful completion of the Harrowing."

      That's all it says :P

WARNING! The mod still glitches i.e. some rings DISAPPEAR when you wear them and reload a save (e.g. Keeper's Ring, Golden Ring). Download the fixed version from zanderb14 - it works perfectly.
Zanderb14 - many thanks for the fix!

I wasted a good 3 hours fixing your mod for you

download the fixed mod here: it is now the main file on this mod page

just extract and replace the original mod in the override folder with it

I also added a script to add all rings to test if it worked(only the ones that this mod affects) just type in console:
    runscript addrings

Unfortunately, I'm just not that proficient with Dragon Age modding or the Toolset. I did art, that was about the extent of it. If someone who better understands the toolset can tell me how to make this mod in a way that prevents this, please PM me. I would gladly rebuild it from scratch to avoid this issue.

I just did some very very cursory poking in the UTI files, and then used the toolset to generate my own versions of a few rings, using your icons... then I compared yours and mine and a vanilla Bioware UTI. Only one thing jumped out at me...

I suspect the string on that line (TemplateResRef) is what the game is balking at, but I didn't have any problem with exporting my test!UTI files, so I can't speculate as to why yours differs. /not very helpful sorry

      what...?

That's super odd. When I get some time I'm gonna revisit this and see if I can repair these.

My RL has been super messed up the past few months, I'm sorry for my neglect.

This is a really cool mod. Unfortunately, some of my rings have disappeared when reloading a save game. So far, it's only been the Dalish Ring and Surveyor. I had RLs Shadow Ring and Blue Shadow accessories, as well as Verdant Sonata and removed them to see if it would fix the problem--it didn't. I made a quick play warden for witch hunt as you start off with some of those accessories, i.e. Dalish Battery. Reloaded that save and the rings are still there so I just don't know what's the cause of the DR and Surveyor vanishing. Granted these two rings aren't like omgOP but they're pretty decent for the beginning in a fresh playthrough. But like I said, I love the mod. Endorsed~

That is very weird. That should not happen. I literally change nothing except change their icons. The names used internally by the game are identical.

Unfortunately, it is something that seems to happen to everyone, including me. Two runs through the game and rings vanished. I only realized what was happening when I had a similar issue with Bregan's Bow. A little logic work revealed a recently-added mod was the culprit, one that added rune slots to it. So, after removing said mod, the bow stopped vanishing, and I made the association quickly. The only vanishing rings were those with modded icons. So, I came here to see if anyone was having the similar issues, and there you go.
