I thought this gonna change Sten's appearance progressively, he'd start pale white and nearly bald when in cage, then grow a bit of facial hair and tan, then finally end up with glorious horns and dark skin. In my game he started dark, with horns and all, and I cannot tell whether he was changing at all throughout the adventures. A bit disappointing, but well, he looks awesome anyways, thanks for that.
Using both this mod and "Dragon Age Origins Unoffical Remaster", Sten looked like he was wearing a mask and wounded.
The issue is both mods have a file qm_genfl_sten.mor and both are applied instead of having the latest simply overwrite the other.
By removing qm_genfl_sten.mor from the Unofficial Remaster folder, Sten's face is then presented as intended by this mod.
This means that only one qm_genfl_sten.mor should be found in the override folder. Yes, this is mentioned in this mod's description, but you might need to search the override folder for hidden ones.
well duh?, DAO Unofficial Remaster uses sten morph to give sten a more qunarri look inspired from Dragon Age 2, this is a customization mod inspired from Dragon Age Inquisition for you to install if you dont like the Original or DAOUR mods look therefore you do have to replace it
Eh, OmarComin410, can you prove you are not a bot here, because that is a copy-paste (word per word, even with the spelling mistakes) of what I wrote in Nov. 2022. Maybe you just shared the info to help, but please, next times, mention it is not from you or mention the source.
hey Seighfryd yea I just copied that onto here so people would see it now instead of digging through the posts. Alot of people dont even bother to look past page 1 of comments sometimes, so thats why I did that. Its what fixed it for me so I figured that would be easier for people to find out what the issue is just like I did.
My experience with multiple files in the override has been different, for what its worth: the game seems to load files alphabetically (with the last one loaded taking precedence over previous ones), so putting this morph in a folder called "z_A Year With Sten" would make it override the Unofficial Remaster.
I have used this method to create a load order for several mods with overlapping files and it doesn't seem to be an issue.
But, question: when I give him a armour from the game, his legs and arms disappear! Why? Can somebody tell me, how I can solve this? It's not important, I just equipped him so that I can no longer see this. It's good that he's the guy with the heavy armor ^^"
For whatever reason I cant seem to get it to work now (with the Vortex mod manager). I put the Qunariupdate.dazip file in the Overrride file and put one of the mor files in Override and removed the rest but his model is still missing in-game.
No that's not true that Vortex isn't work. You only must do sometimes the mods manually into the "downloads" folder of Vortex - of course in the right one! - for me it works fine. My only problem I have at the moment, when I give him on some armor, his legs and arms are invisible ^^"
I did not know Sten's people where that cool! So not aging tribesmen santa, but a bad ass hybrid of vrykul, golden, Ancient Egyptian demon/god child, and elf in look. His people are awesome! I always thought before I played much with Sten and heard his comments to party members, that he was just some odd tribal A.hole, I found in a cage, one who did not ''Respect my authority' and ungrateful'...but ''the Sten'' is noble! A good solder/philosopher, and a good and pragmatic man!
THANK YOU. I saw this mod and thought it was amazing but then realized that file was no longer accessible. (I'm very new and very late to the modding scene for DAO) Thank you for this!
does anyone have an installation guide for it? i downloaded it and now i don't know how or where to shove the files in, lmao i'm just really bad with mods
In order to install a .dazip, you need to use DAupdater. First, don't use winzip or any other program to extract the archive. Instead, navigate to your game directory (usually C:\program files (x86)\origin games\dragon age\bin_ship if you have the Origin version). Within the Bin_ship folder, find the program daupdater.exe and open it. It will have an option to select dazips. Then, point the program to your downloaded Qunari update file. Once the file pops up on the daupdater, select it and then click "install selected" once the program finishes, you're good to go.
I am confused by the instruction to place a single mor file, and yet the mod can later update the appearance ? (unless the dazip file has the other mor files hidden in its own code). If so, if I understand well, the choice is so the player has the option to start at a "later" appearance/phase.
I like the mod cause the design is cool and it gives the character a nice look. Lore wise though Quinari can be born without horns. It's rare but it quinari society it's actually seen as a sign of them having a special role in the Bioware canon comics
