As soon as I create my elf apostate it tells me it can't load the area. Am I doing something wrong here?

I just finished Act 1. There was a chase scene and a stealth scene I got stuck on for a bit but eventually got through it. Overall I enjoyed what I played though it's a little weird that despite being a rogue, I keep getting dialogue as if I am a mage. It's a little strange. I just try not to pick those options when they come up.

How do I install the update? DAmodder says the mod is already installed and requires to uninstall the 1.15 version before proceed to install 1.18.1.

Finished this and Well into Act II. Really loved the characters and claustrophobic city environment. Excited for Acts 2 and 3

This mod is amazing!!! This is the first modded campaign for DA:O I've played and I'm amazed. It's made me smile to see new stories, locations, and characters in this game. The tone and story of this campaign are well-done too. The mod creators should be proud!

Sorry to be a pain. I'm stuck again, this time I free Ophelia, get the weapons and there's no way to get out of the castle, I can get to the cousland castle main floor but cannot interact with any of the doors. It's not all that clear to me how I'm supposed to be getting out or when and how. I'm so confused. I swear I tried a load of things first because I didn't want to bother everyone again.

I've tried so many combinations, I've re-loaded 100 times. What order do I need to do everything in so me and Zeke can get to the alienage? Everything ends up with me stuck in the castle with no exit to the city. I feel so silly because I'm enjoying the story but I end up stuck somewhere every quest. I'm worried it's just me too like am I just easily confused? 😅

also for some reason Alki insists I take the staff because "I'm the only one who can use it". ??? I'm a duel wielding rogue, why would I want a staff?

I hope Kahsah comes back with real advice for you again.  My male PC had to escape through the old tunnel with Luna, and I've only played through twice so that is all I know.  Alki was giving me his Sunfang dagger, which is a big plot mover item for my Rogue, does Alki think you are a mage or something?  Have not used other builds in this.

You helped a lot last time, last time I had completely missed the third lever, so if it wasn't for you I'd not have found that.

I'll give that a try, I end up with Alki and Luna leaving with Ophelia and I'm with Zeke. I think I'm supposed to leave the basement level but when I do I'm stuck in the castle. I tried every door there and once I go up I'm stuck and have to reload a save 😅

Yeah I think he must think I'm a mage, but I'm not sure why.

No worries. Nice to see people still playing this.

I think the weapons thing was just an oversight and likely due to the fact you're a rogue duel wielder instead of an archer. However, aside from missing out on a bit stronger weapon there isn't any plot ramification from not getting the correct item. Sunfang isn't given to you until a later quest regardless of class.

I'm a little unsure how you're getting into this state. So i'm just going to mention what's supposed to happen to see if something went wrong.

In that room with the weapon cabinet there is also a scroll near the crossbow. You're supposed to get that and then once you leave the room Rupert begins to return and you need to go back into the opposite room that takes you through the dungeon cell blocks. You cannot get into a fight with Rupert.

You go through the cell blocks and then find Orphelia and free her. Then you leave through the closed door and thus completed a loop through the dungeon. Click on the door to leave the dungeon and go into the basement. Here you are basically back-tracking the way you originally came until a little cutscene where Alki tells you to turn around so patrolling guards don't see/catch you. Alki then unlocks a door that you can click on and lead up to the main castle area. (It's possible that as a rogue you might have picked the door lock before the plot advanced).

Then you basically start a "run" sequence where you need to circle around the castle throne room trying to avoid the guards because if they catch you, then they'll kill you. It will just be you and Zeke, but you can ignore Zeke. You probably want to use the wasd keys instead of the mouse so you're always moving. The door you use to leave is the one that you originally entered the castle in that is between the Chantry and the throne room. Then once you exit, you make a loop around the courtyard by first turning left, you're taking the long way around to the alienage. Don't run through the courtyard though. If it's proving difficult to escape the guards, you can turn the difficulty down to easy before entering one of the levels and that should make the guards need to get closer to you before they "catch" you.

At no point should you get into combat and that's really the only thing I'm aware of that might be blocking you from exiting. And perhaps as a rogue you picked the lock to leave the basement before the plot advanced.

No combat happened it's just all the doors were closed. I'll try again and do it in the exact order you stated (I did pick up the scroll and looked at the crossbow) and see if that helps. I never entered into a fight with the captain though, I made sure to avoid him.

Update: I followed the exact order you suggested exactly and I managed to get out. I don't think I was triggering the "Run" sequence properly because in the un-escapable Highever castle none of the guards were reacting to me.

Thanks so much both of you

Hey I've put the jar on the pressure plates in the basement and I moved the shelves but I can't click on the levers. Is there something I'm missing. I can't actually see the levers to be fair cause it's so dark.

Loving the mod so far btw I'm just stuck lol

Look for another lever hiding high in the corner of the wall opposite the fireplace.

Thanks, I hadn't even found that one.

I did pull the other lever, but I still can't pull the other two or progress.

With the jar still in place, and the back lever pulled (may want to do that one again) move very close to the two levers behind the shelves to operate them.  Can't think of any thing else, those levers are hard to select and get activated.

In the settings you can try disabling "Frame buffer effects" and that should help make the level less dark. Though i'd re-enable it afterwards as it improves cutscenes. That room should basically be the darkest area in the mod.

Also, unfortunately those levers behind the bookcases sometimes require you to be basically bumping into them to select them and pull them down.

Hi I am not sure if this thread is active but I need help.

I am doing the quest "Grahm Heirlooms" and I am stuck at the stage that need to enter the castle.

I got the 2 sacks in the central market area.
The cutscene about 2 drunk already happened, I already interact with the 2 bodies and choose letting them there to rot.

When I get to the castle entrance (In Courtyard night area)  the guard said I need to talk to the guard at the main entrance, but at the supposed main entrance (the area with a big locked gate and 2 guards in City Gates Night area), the guards only give default messages when I tried to talk to them.

So I am not sure if I find the correct main entrance or something is wrong. I have been wandering around for hours and still stuck. It's quite frustrated because the mod seems well designed and I really want to play on.

So, I'm trying to remember from memory but...
The City Gates Night is the correct area for the main gate. I believe you're at the right one, but just to be sure.
If you start in the market area where the two dead drunks are. you then head towards the farm corridor, but instead of going to the farm you turn left down those corridors. I believe from that initial left, you'll turn left again, then left again, then right. That opens up to an area with several pillars and big gates. That's what the main gates are supposed to be.

It's possible you might have run into a bug. If you a save before encountering those drunks then you may want to reload from that one and then once they're dead choose to hide the bodies. Which you can then go to the Well in the farm area to do.

If you don't have a save, you can try talking to zeke or just going directly up to the door and trying clicking on it. Even if it isn't intractable, try to walk up to the door.

if that doesn't work, I believe I have a test helper npc you can try to summon. if you try typing in something like
runscrip get_test_helper or runscrip test_helper, you might need to prefix ue1 like ue1_test_helper - of course if those do work, then be aware they were for very specific testing and may not actually provide anything but ways to further break your game lol. So, unfortunately, reloading an earlier save is likely your best bet.
