With QUDAOFv3, the missing Ancient Elven Boots, and over 700 other plot-and dialogue-related bugs have been squashed!
Even if you were using Qwinn's Fixpack v2, this is a completely new version with over 10X additional fixes.
It is compatible with almost all other mods that DON'T affect plot flags or dialogue choices (i.e. is compatible with item, appearance, and game-mechanics mods.)
If you still want/need to use this mod, then feel free.
its been a very long time since anyone has commented in this thread so i'm probably not going to get an answer but i've installed this mod, and used the general fix, yet the tome isnt appearing in my inventory
You need to use a program called "Dragon Age Origins Mod Manager," for DAZIPS, separate from normally putting files into the override folder in documents. If the DAZIP cannot be added to "DAOMM," you may need to extract the DAZIP itself and then try dragging it into DAOMM again.

So i havent added the Qwinns Fixpack V3. i seriously only want the boots to complete the very cool aesthetic of the Ancient Elven Armor, but the Mod Managers wont download, please help
Hello, I used the general fix as I was not able to get back to Lothering. But I have a question about a new game. Shall I swap these mods, or can I leave the general one active? When will add the scroll? When I enter Lothering? Thanks.
I have used the original vanilla fix many times without issue. If you leave it activated after obtaining the boots, there can be a problem with stats on leveling. To avoid any problems, I do the following:
Install the dazip with daupdater.exe found in C:\Program Files (x86)\ Dragon Age\bin_ship.
It will automatically be activated on installation, which you can see by going to Downloadable Content > Installed Content tab, scroll down to Chantry Boots. I always leave it deactivated unless I'm going to go into the Lothering chantry to obtain the boots. When I start a new play, it is deactivated.
Do a quick save before going into the chantry, exist the game, and activate the mod. Then return to the game, obtain the key, and loot the boots from the cabinet.
After doing another save, exist the game again and deactivate the mod. When you go to load the game, it will tell you that you have a mod loaded in the save that is not active, and asks whether you want to activate it, or force load. Choose force load. There is a second confirmation for force load after this.
On loading into the game again, you should still find the boots in your inventory.
@rosvitacousland; You may absolutely make a German translation of this. It would be just a translation of the instructions, as the assets are all already in-game.
Update: I think the problem may be that there are 2 .dazip files in the mod's .zip file.
It may be better to pick one version to be the "main" mod and to put the other one up as an "optional file". This would hopefully allow people to install either one via NMM.
I agree. for some reason whe i tried to install the mod on NMM it said their was a problem. then when i go to my doc. page to see if i could fix it the folder wont open. i dont know if its the file or just my comp. but seperate files for the two would probably help.
You need to pick ONE of the files inside the download. Using NMM will install both folders and, still, cannot activate .dazip files. You need to manually download the mod and open it via a program like winrar.
Go to your local disk drive > Program > Steam > Steamapps > Common > Dragon Age > bin_ship > click on the "DAUpdater" file.
Drag ONE of the files to the DAUpdater, select it and click install. That should be the proper way to install one of the two files.
I haven't tested the mod myself yet, I just know that's the general process. Hopefully this helps.
Thanks for the tip. however it didn't work for me. it mostly downloaded and then stopped just a little before completing and the status bar said 'error'. so now what do I do? I'm not very computer savvy but I'm generally good at following directions, please help me out.

@Chapon; You can leave the "General" version. It will work in a new game.
However, the Tome won't function until you've visited Lothering at least once.

I made a German translation for me. May I publish it?

EDIT: But this mod was posted long before the Nexus Mod Manager was even released, so you do have to use the "download manually" option.
Using DAupdater or whatever to install the vanilla .dazip adds a DLC entry *and* added the boots to the cabinet as described.
