Which one are the Knight Commander Armor files for Gregoir & Rylock. I only want to keep Meredith's DA2 armor while using the classic Origins Templar look for everyone else.
The second optional file said it replaces all the knight commander armors with normal Templar armor. I meant, I just want to keep only the "Meredith's Knight Commander outfit" for Gregoir & Rylock and uninstall everything else.
Must be a mod conflict somewhere that changes your head to something non-vanilla. Come to think of it, this is actually a vanilla behavour due to the full-face helmet. There's no need to render the head if it's going to be covered by the helmet anyway, so the game removes the head but keep the eyeballs so they're visible from outside the helmet.
Maybe you have a mod that would "revert" this vanilla behaviour somewhere.
I found a work around for people who have Improved Atmosphere installed and are having issues with some templars not having the DA2 armor on and/or Gregior's armor being a disgusting messy texture, this mod only changes the base model and in some cases an "_a" & "_b" file of the same names ( "_b" being the special Knight Commanders variant), but Improved Atmosphere adds an "_c" file of the same name that some of the newly added templars use, this also seems to mess up Gregior's armor texture filepath (I have no idea how to fix that since I'm not a modder, this is just a simple fix that worked for me), the way I fixed it was I went into the IA folder of this mod (Templars of Ferelden) and copied all of the "_a" files, pasted them and changed the "_a" to an "_b" (deleting the existing "_b" files) and then pasted the "_a" again and changed it to an "_c" , then I copied all of the files from the Templars of Ferelden IA folder to the core/override folder and put them in ANY FOLDER AND SUBFOLDER OF IA THAT CHANGES ARMOR, I have many mods installed through IA and had to copy/paste into 6 different folders, the default location stated in this mod, all additional folders that say things like "Armor & Weapons (custom)" etc... , under "7. Extras" and under "6. Specials" are good places to look, this number will vary depending on the amount of mods installed, but this fixed the templars missing the armor and replaced Gregor's Knight Commander armor with that of a normal Templar's (which to me fits him better anyways).
If anyone wants a better explanation of how to do this workaround comment and I'll make a youtube video explaining how to do it.
I concur. I must be missing a file to paste it in or something because I just can't get it to work. The templar helmets and shields still show up as default
I think this is a great mod, but I have a question Lore-wise, and cannot find an answer no matter where I look. So, I was hoping another DA fan would know! When did they change the positioning of the sword on the Templar armor? In DA:O the sword points UP. In DA2 it points DOWN and is still down in DAI. Does anyone know if this has to do specifically with the Templars in Fereldan? Or was it just done for aesthetics?
You can read more on their Wiki Page about the Templar order heraldry. Judging from the article, there doesn't seem to be a standard mandatory design that's enforced throughout the world as long as it has a sword and flames around it, that's all they need to know that it's the templar order. It doesn't seem to matter which side it's pointing. But we can safely assume that different region may adopt their own styles differently. Or that it may just be a timing thing, like for example: The heavy armor with the sword heraldry pointing up may have been the current heraldry for the Templar Order in Ferelden. But other region like Kirkwall may have issued a different armor style with the heraldry of the sword pointing down instead.
Over time this design may have been spread and the Templar Order in Ferelden may have adopted this new style. There is a significant time gap between DA:O, DA:2, and DA:I after all, spanning roughly around 5 years in between games. So it's not surprising if armour design and heraldry changes throughout different periods.
Hey I know I'm very late to the party. I've been playing with both Improved Atmosphere and Unofficial Remaster, and while Grey Wardens of Ferelden work perfectly, I'm still struggling with Templars.
I've deleted the Templar and UTC files of Unofficial Remaster, but it doesn't change anything : all Templars in Lothering have the DA2 armor, and NONE of the others have it later in the game. I've tried many times, but the mod doesn't work on Broken Circle's Templars, only in Lothering. I know it must be a conflict of some sort, but I really can't find it, since there is no Templar files left in Unofficial Remaster I didn't delete.
You probably need to load an earlier save file "before" you arrive in Lothering. This is because once an area is loaded the first time, all the NPCs and their inventory is generated according to the game files and mods, and will be stored into your save file the next time you save it. This means that any mods that you change or remove or add after that point, they won't work because the game will just take whatever it is from your save file (which doesn't have the changes that you put). So try to either start a brand new game. A good place to start testing is to play the Mage Origins as a new game, that should give you direct access to the templars and how they look. If it works there, it will work everywhere on any playthrough, as long as you haven't visited the location the first time.
