It's referring to a known bug in Awakening, that causes these additional, unintended skill and talent points to be added to your character when you use the tome.
Thankfully, this mod will not cause that issue happening when you use it in Origins as this mod allows.
Edit: This was nearly 2 years ago. I no longer use the mod. Even if I did, everyone has a right to play the game however they want. Simple as that. Now please leave me alone. <3
so I had no idea how to get this item in Origins myself without the console, of which I hate doing as I don't like cheating in any way, shape, or form.
If I add 1 book every time I get a new companion by using the console - I'm a filthy cheat. If I make a mod that adds 1 book every time I get a new companion - automatically - again at no cost - I'm not? Ok, whatever lets you sleep at night I guess.

I'm fresh out of Lothering, and the manual worked on my PC, Alistair, Morrigan and Leliana, but not on Sten and Dog. Nothing happens when I try to use it on them, it won't even highlight and "flash" like other items do when they're supposed to be used as soon as you close the inventory.
THis mod used to work fine, but for some reason now the Manual isn't showing up in Bodhan's store? I've tried travelling to a different area to "reset" his store, but still nothing.
I'm pretty sure none of my other 3 mods are affecting it, as i'm certain I had access to the manual whilst all 4 were active.
Hmmm...I had an issue with this... Installed it and even used it while in Origins and it worked so far. But I had following troubles in Awakening...the stamina potions were non usable, All new Skills, talents & spells didnt appear and the withered in Vigils keep had no head ?!?
Truly? No, Awakening isn't required. Look towards the bottom of Bodahn's store. Another mod might be overriding the entry script m2da ID, but that's unlikely.

If you can please clarify what do you mean by:
- Warden isn't attributed a bonus skill point.
- Rogues aren't attributed a bonus talent point.
What bonus skill/talent points are you referring to?
