this mod seems to have no effect in the DLC campaigns, is there a fix for this?

I've installed and reinstalled this mod and checked different saves but it simply doesn't work. I get no item in my inventory and no way to kill the bad guys.

I have just realized it says for origins only. Does anyone know of a similar mod for the Ultimate Edition?

Thought I'd pop this in here for anyone who is going to do a Dwarf Noble playthrough, when you get banished to the Deep Roads it will show as missing since it's technically an item to get it back all you need to do is save then load that save same as you would at the beginning of the game.

not to be rude but I dont get mods like these? (skip fade, and another "skip" mods) I mean, if you want to skip fight (and contents) why still play the game? also, there are lots of playthroughs on youtube if you are in it only for the story. i'm curious honestly.

For me at least, the answer to this is the reason why I play Dragon Age: there are so many options and choices! With other video games, I watch playthroughs, since I am in it for the story, not the gameplay. But Dragon Age is so choice-driven that it's hard to find a playthrough that matches the choices you want to see. But again, people like me aren't playing the game for the gameplay, they're playing for the story, so mods like these are essential. Especially when the combat system is a bit old and boring- in my opinion at least. Hope this helps!

Ive restarted the campaign so many times that sometime I just want a easy way past the slog. Mods can cause game breaking glitchs so this eases the blow a bit. I just got right to the end before the battle of Denerim where I couldn't move on for example.

not to be rude but I don't get people who don't understand mod like these? Mods like this are great for 2nd or 3rd playthroughs. Some people have limited time to game, so this helps skips time wasting fights.

And regarding "watching playthroughs". You don't get to make choices. Which are interesting in a game like this.

Again, it's for saving time, and helps with multiple playthroughs. Plus skipping trivial fights. Doesn't mean we want to skip the entire game.

Baffling how people still don't have to capacity to realise this.

Without this mod I wouldn't be on my 3rd playthrough, discovering new choices and other things.

Would've liked it better it there was some kind of damage increase mod or less spongy enemies but this skip is the only option it seems.

@Tomatorr but there are very few major choices in this game, you're saying it like it has infinite possibilities with choices but if you look at the reality there really just 2-3 choices in every major plot you can choose from. for example, cure wolves or kill elves or help them both. also, the game is short as it is. imo, the combat is part of the game, it's like eating a pizza but you want to throw away the meat and veggies just because you are curious on the taste of the crust. You're saying "saving time" but it would be much faster if you just look on wiki the possible choices and outcomes there are and search the EXACT video. Like EVERY outcome and choices of landsmeet are in the wiki. Baffling how people still don't have to capacity to realise this. Even dialogue tree is on the wiki, you want to know what zevran will say if you ask "X" this, or how morrigan will react if you choose "Y" this dialogue option.

Still enough choices and dialogue for me to find and listen to, not just from major plot points, but from side quests I skipped.

And I am saving time, and just because there are other options to consume the game (wiki, videos) I don't want to watch or read them, I want to play the game.

And that food analogy has got to be one of the dumbest I've ever seen. I'm playing a game, not eating food. Baffling you don't have to capacity to realise this. Try being more pragmatic.

You were curious on why people would use this mod and I gave you reasons, I finished my first playthrough the way the game was intended, this mod helped me save time on my ***2nd & 3rd*** playthrough. It's as simple as that.

like I said previously: "Would've liked it better it there was some kind of damage increase mod or less spongy enemies but this skip is the only option it seems."

love how you say "not to be rude" and then go on to be rude in your response to another member... you asked, people answered. it's fine that this type of mod isn't your cup of tea, it doesn't have to be! that's the joy of it. you can install it if you want to, and if you don't want to then no one is making you install it.

personally, i've played through this entire game 10+ times "the right way" over the years because it's one of my favorites. a mod like this is good for me because i enjoy the more difficult fights in the game, but can get pretty bored doing the same goon fights on my way to plot and cutscenes. you're focusing on only the "major" plot choices but there are so many little dialogue choices that change character reactions and whatnot.  not to mention sometimes people do new playthroughs because they want to test out a new mod or see content that they've never played before. the major plot choices aren't the only reason that people do a playthrough. plus, it can be fun to just do a quick run through the game to set up a character for a DA2 run.

people enjoy these mods for the opposite reasons that people enjoy playing on nightmare difficulties. some people want the challenge, some people don't. some people play games like this because they like making a character and seeing them interact with the world.  i think it's great that modders have made the game more accessible for a bunch of different playstyles, or can help people get to their favorite parts of the game while skipping the scenarios that maybe they don't love as much.

as for your suggestion that people should just go look up videos or read the wiki... not everyone wants to do that. some people want to be able to see it with their character, rather than just watching someone else do it... there are plenty of mods on here that i wouldn't download in a thousand years, but i don't really see any point in acting like playing the game one way is better than playing the game another way...

i love this game but sometimes i just wanna run around with my party members, hear their banter, see the sights, lose myself in the music, atmosphere, ambiance, engage in conversation, explore, and whatever else, without the hassle of combat interrupting the pacing of any of that.

do you feel the same way about cyoa (choose your own adventure) games or visual novels? i mean why invest time or money on a virtual book that can be read to you by someone else? or even if they don't read it, and you have to read it yourself, why not just look up a video of someone playing it (with no commentary), so you can read it from their video for free?

it's because we want to experience it ourselves. even if that doesn't include all parts of the game, and only is specific to the parts we like.

edit: also wow, just read your reply.. those of us playing through this, whether it be the first, second, or however many playthroughs.. it has nothing to do with "not having the capacity to understand" like wtf.. that was so rude.. besides it seems to me that you are the one who doesn't understand. perhaps your lack of understanding stems from you not being able to step outside your own perspective.

Is common sense I think? A lot o people like me, love the game and replay it hundred of times to take different decisions, or play with different characters and the game become heavy when you saw the same scenes so many times, and is the same when you have to fight minor enemies. You said you ask just fot curiosity but looks more like you are judging because someone answer you and you replied talking about eating pizza and who knows what else? You remind me to those people who go to cheat mods threads and start to ask why people use cheats? The people use them because they want, you don't need to understand it. Like we don't understand why you ask something like that.

Because I've played this game, from the OC to Witch Hunt, 10 times with 10 different Wardens on PS3 alone. Now that I have the PC version I'd rather skip the boring fights and keep the interesting and important fights.

This game is so broadly diverse and extremely huge it can take a very long time to make progress and is likely meant to be acceptable to many. Which I believe it has been. With add-ons and the many EA/Bioware official DLC components, you can drop into a black hole of time and take a month or more to work back out of it. With all the different Origin initial setups, even the vanilla game can last a very long time. Combat can drag the timeline out even more. For me, sometimes in a battle I say to myself, OK, enough of this......and flick the ashes and that's it. Time to move ahead to the next town or wherever. I've played every origin and some five or six times. With all the mods, even repeating an origin can become a totally different experience. You wanted to see what people see in a mod like this. There have been enough replies for you to learn of the thinking of others. If someone was to sell a computer game (or anything for that matter) and it only appealed to one single person or one philosophy or it was of limited use, you would be out of business shortly. EA and Bioware have a good rep and this release is a supporting example of that. Here we are deeply involved ten or more years later and the game is still usuable and highly varied. Ppl are still modding, we are still discovering mods we never knew about.
Owning a game of this value is a big plus in life. Few designers can say theirs are running well ten or more years later. The adaptability of this game for each player is a huge plus. Another support for the answers we all gave about the wide variety of people playing this game and the wide variety in how to play it. The playing experiences are much more richer than watching someone play on a video on YT. Try installing a few dozen mods and see how much difference there is in the playing experience. And like some have said here and elsewhere: mods are all optional so don't install what you don't want and if an installation isn't to your standard then take it off. How lucky we are TO HAVE THAT OPTION.

I enjoy every part of this game except for the fade (bad mechanics, boring puzzles, etc). If "skip the fade" was not a mod, I owuld have only replayed twice or thrice.
      Keep an open mind.

Didn't work on Loghain at the Landsmeet. Everywhere else I tried it, it worked just fine.
Perfect thing for a replay when you simply want to skip some of the boring combat sections in the game and just get to the good part.

https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/4927?tab=files&BH=0 This one works in DLCs and Awakening

Some battles you can't kill off the main character in one hit, especially if there is follow-up dialogue that comes at the end of the battle, or the character is meant to flee. Even without the ashes you can't use a weapon to the death. The script running has other things that need to be dealt with. Some conversations, some choices you have to make in selecting responses. Sometimes you get an option to save and use that character, or you can choose to delegate the final act to someone else or you can select the dialogue to do it yourself. The ashes will only kill off what CAN be killed, by design. Which is actually almost everyone in battle locations.

Hey, thanks for the mod! Really saves time on the tedious combat.

Just a quick question: Is it possible to add the item to the inventory via a command? Asking because during the Dwarf Noble origin your entire inventory is emptied when you are exiled to the Deep Roads. So the game takes away everything including the Ashes of Death and I don't know how to get them back

Edit: Never mind. The item has been added again after the Joining Ritual and everything works fine now :)

Know that the knowledge you seek is dangerous, young one. Few know of it and even fewer survive its revelation. Still, you persist. Very well, young one, you'll find the answer on the front page of the mod...just read the description....Like for most mods....

Does this mod do the same thing as runscript killallhostiles?

I'm looking for a way to kill the bosses that don't die when I use that script.

Greatest thing ever. I've done some math and this save at least 15 hours of my life. Which is like one third of the normal playtime. And I didnt skip bosses and almost any interesting fight, just those painfully repetetive ones.
