Okay, so after much trial and error, I have this mod working for me - and for any other poor lost souls playing (or at least modding) DA:O for the first time in the year 2022 or later, allow me to be your guide through these wartorn ancient battlefields.... (I joke, but for real, it's easy to get lost when a lot of 'assumed common knowledge' is no longer common years later-!)

First, don't bother trying to download/install this mod via any of the mod managers, whether DA-specific or otherwise. You'll need to do precisely as xatmos mentioned in the description: use DA Updater.

Where you'll find DA Updater will slightly vary, as reading back in time through this forum will demonstrate, but it's pretty likely you've gotten the game via Steam (or maybe Origin) if you're playing it now. In which case, follow this (rough) path in your folders:

[your PC] > [main install drive; (C:) or otherwise] > Program Files (x86) (or just vanilla Program Files, depending on your setup) > Steam > steamapps > common > Dragon Age Ultimate Edition > bin_ship

There, you'll find DAUpdater.exe - note: the path for Origin will be similar, but Origin flavored. Still should be in bin_ship!

Once you've found DA Updater, make sure you have the mod file downloaded!

• for me, the Source file didn't work! Use the "old files" section mod file. It'll just be named Polygamey or Polygamey-259.
• some people have said in the comments here that they were able to change the Source file's .zip or .7z into a .dazip and have it install properly; for me I just got varying errors, even when successfully changing to .dazip; your mileage may vary, but hey, I just wanna share what I know worked.
• If you want the updated Alistair marriage fix, follow the same steps for the main mod, but do it second. Still install via DA Updater; I haven't verified that content myself, but it should still install correctly, at least.

As mentioned above, if you download the mod from the "Old Files" section, you shouldn't have to do anything with the file extension, it'll be plug and play as I explain in a second. But there's a chance you're running Chrome (I recommend Firefox, but hey, to each their own), or otherwise have a funky setup that forces your .zip-flavored downloads into a special format. In which case, do as others have said here, and change it into a .dazip by editing the file name. You may have to go into View > [click box that says File Name Extensions] in your Windows Explorer to do this.

Presuming you're not messing with file names, then yay! After downloading the original mod file, onto the next step:

• Run DA Updater (may take a few seconds even with a fast computer, be patient)
• Drag and drop the Polygamey file (.dazip) into the bottom section of the program (the list-looking bit)
• Click on the file you just dropped in there to highlight it
• Click "Install"

Bam! You should be set!

You can verify by starting DA:O, clicking Play in the startup miniwindow, then in the fullscreen proper game title screen, go to "Downloadable Content" and scroll through the list; Polygamey (possibly misspelled, lmao) should be on the list! In fact, any mods you install with DA Updater should be on this list. It's possible you may need to check the box next to it to 'activate it' in-game, but it was already set to activated for me. I think it depends if you've changed your DLC settings in the past, but it's good to check regardless.

Hope this helps future players and mod appreciators! Sorry I can't say what specifics do or don't work once the mod is actually installed, but at least you got through the installation bit. Happy modded game-playing - and thank so freaking much to xatmos for making such an awesome mod. :)

That might be because looking at the Manifest.xml file, the old one that works(v259) has:
<en-us>
<![CDATA[Polygamy]]>
</en-us>

And the newer one's (v3b-259) has:
<en-us>
<![CDATA[Polygamey]]>
</en-us>

I do not want to risk it mid-game and went with your solution. Thanks.

For me, using Dao-Modmanager v1.9d [https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonage/mods/277] to install the latest version [v3b-259] worked flawlessly.

I passed the game with this mod and here is the verdict for 2023. He works and removes the flags of jealousy for the characters, it turned out to have an affair with Leliana and Morrigan. The problem is in the finale of the game before the coronation, when you come to talk to Liliana and she says that she can't stay to be with the guardian, but at the same time she doesn't eat to look for her ex, but buys a house in the city and the dialogue is friendly and not romantic, although through debug the flags of the novel are in place. Maybe it's to blame that I decided to be crowned and did not toughen Leliana.The game sees the flag only with Morrigan and Anora. Right now I'll try to switch to another ending and then confirm my suspicions

i installed the mod, then realized it was stopping me completely from ending a relationship with a companion and uninstalled it. however, when i tried opening the game it appeared the save files were corrupted. like, none of them are working now. i installed the mod again and tried opening the save files i hadn't opened after uninstalling the mod, however that didn't work either. so i suppose, this is a warning to anyone installing.
it's also a cry for help. can someone tell me how to fix this. i'm like two thirds into the game i don't wanna lose everything guys

I want to report a bug. A minor one, but it shocked me for a few minutes there.

!!!!!SPOILER WARNING!!!! if you haven't finished the game!

- Female Noble Warden, romancing Alistair AND everyone else, including Morrigan.
- In the Landsmeet, I choose to rule alongside Alistair and becoming his queen
- Night before we march to Denerim, Morrigan talks to me (Female! Warden) to do the baby-thing and I (female) can agree. I do agree.
- We defeat the ArchDemon, nobody dies. By Morrigan's magic, two women made a baby with each other and this took in the soul. Yay!
- Ending cutscene roll in. First thing that happens: Anora is queen. WTF? SHE IS SUPPOSED TO BE IN PRISON T__T
- After Anora asks me what I want as a reward and the cutscene ends, Anora is nowhere to be seen and instead, Alistair greets me and I can talk to him about our upcoming marriage.
- The very last writing about the ending state that my Female Noble Warden indeed married King Alistair. All is well.
TLDR; Anora shows up as Queen despite her being locked up, a few minutes later the game switches back to Alistair being King.

Wondering if someone could give step-by-step instructions on installation? I've tried DAO Mod Manager and the Updater, and neither will recognize it as a dazip or override file.

I was able to install this just fine, though I haven't tested it to see if it works in-game.
My installation steps:

• Installed Dragon Age Origins: Ultimate Edition through Origin
• Added a few mods like Dragon Age Redesigned and Ser Gilmore [? just for context]
• Used the DA Updater to add the .dazip for Polygamey
• Verified that Polygamey was installed via the DA Mod Manager
I hope that was helpful!

Does this make the inter-game continuity system s*** itself, or is it safe to use a save file that has this mod into Inquisition?

EDIT: Just went with Morrigan, didn't want to risk it.

Let me know if you find out please. Was wondering the same thing. Mod was last updated in 2009 but dragon age 2 was release in 2011.I am having doubts as to whether the modder took the sequel into account.

Didn't inquisition use DA Keep instead of save transfer? You can set plot flags the way you want with save editor

I know this is pretty late to the party, but you know how it is. You don't have to worry about using this and having it mess up your Inquisition game. In the third installment of the Dragon Age series, Inquisition does not import a user's saves as Dragon Age 1 and 2 did. Instead, you utilize Bioware's site, The Dragon Age Keep. There, the Keep would upload the important milestones and choices that were made in each game. This also enables the user to change how things went, so you can create a world state that would reflect how the user wished their Inquisitor to find Thedas upon starting up Dragon Age: Inquisition and beginning a new game.

If you do not go to The Dragon Age Keep and put in what you had done in previous games, it will load a default world state that may not reflect your choices in previous games. So it is HIGHLY recommended you go there and update it to show what you chose.

This also means that you can create more than one world state, which has different choices from one world state to another. You just have to make the one you want in your game the "default" world state. You can name/rename it to whatever you wish to help you remember. Or to keep one you use for PC separate from the one you use for ps4. *Shrug* Whatever you want.

As a side note, you can also hear Varric Tethras go over what happened in each game in much the same way you would get epilogue slides in the games, as a way to refresh one's memory before playing. I don't think it is really something that is particularly well known. You can also stop it in the middle of playing if you don't like what he's saying, and edit the choice he's talking about, so you can end up hearing him recite your chosen world state as a mini-story.

It's also not as well known that there is a game in The Dragon Age Keep. If you finish it and win, you get window glass you can use in Skyhold as a decoration.

Thank you for the info about DA:I! Would you happen to know if this works for Awakening as well, or only the BG?

Not completely sure if this is what you're asking, but you can edit all of the Awakening world states in Dragon Age Keep as well. I don't know about Varric's story, since I haven't played that myself. Cheers!

Could this somehow glitch out your save for the next games?

Not really because Dragon Age Keep let's you modify everything for Inquisition anyway and only a few choices have any relevance to DA2.
