Guys, to be honest i am not really around in Dragon Age anymore because i moved to skyrim modding, and i also would need to get the hang of it again, this is why i do not answer any more PM's about Dragon Age or Dragon Age 2, i hope you understand :-)
Though i agree with you that DAO is better than Skyrim, the fact that you only played half an hour of Skyrim is not a fact in your favour. Only playing half an hour of Skyrim just means that you are not qualified to judge the game, let alone compare it to another.
I am late to the conversation, but I can understand how you only put 30 mins into Skyrim. The first 2 hours or so is really not that awe inspiring. I think that boring intro scene that they had for that game really set the tone for the first couple of hours of the game. Personally I only put in 14 hours into the game before I just simply gave up on it. I had put hundreds of hours int Oblivion and all of the Fallout games that were out at the time. But, to this day I couldn't tell anyone what the main story was about. DAO is simply a better all around game. At least for me. And it has aged better than Skyrim as well.
I've sunk way too many hours in skyrim and have done a majority of quests (aside from the super obscure ones, because I'm sure I've missed a few things) and the repeatable ones, and I second what this person says: DAO is far better than Skyrim can ever dream to be.
For anyone else who wants to know how to install this without DAO mod manager:
1. Download the version you want. This will get you a .rar file containing one or more ".override" files. Open it with your favorite archive program (e.g. 7zip). 2. Those ".override" files are just renamed ZIP files, so change their extension to ".zip" and open them. 3. In those now-ZIP files, you will find a BioWare folder. Simply drop that folder into your My Documents folder, merging its contents with the BioWare folder you already have there. 4. Launch the game, animations should now work.
The mod works perfectly when installed by DAO mod manager. Just drop the override file into mod managers' override folder (not your standard override folder) and install.
Female animations look good for my female mage, but I had a good chuckle at the way Zevran was running around during battle and eventually decided on male ones.
Does this mod fix the bug, where my character gets stuck in the combat position, when not in combat? I always avoid this bug by not moving, when a cutsceen starts.
The animations for this mod work very well, you only need revamp the file structure slightly. I understand that I say this very easily, but that it is very overwhelming for many people. That being said, PM me if you need help and I'll be happy to tell you what I did.
If the original author happens to read this and would like to post a copy of my file as a working Vortex auto-download install, please let me know because you did an amazing job of fixing the battle animations. *shudders* They were more scary than the darkspawn.
Sorry been away from DAO for a while as you can see. Life happens. Don't remember exactly what I did at this point, but still have the files safe and sound on my computer, so let me look at it and I'll get back with you ASAP.
Well, I checked and after a quick peek... IDK HOWEVER! I do have the working male set still in my folders, so if you want I can send. Seems like all I did was redo the file structure to match other packs. PM me if so. Sorry I don't have time to dig more into it at this point.

I know the mod creator no longer addresses the mo, but does anyone know how to fix a problem I have with the mod? I installed it, but I didn't really like how it makes the characters pretty much constantly stab themselves in the face while running around in combat. So I uninstalled the same way I used to install. Using the Modmanager. However,the effects remain in the game even when uninstalled and I don't know how to get back the original animations. Anyone know what's wrong? Has anyone had trouble uninstalling the mod?
