Use the old files, not the 2.0 version: It does not improve the colors and gamma of the textures but makes them very dark, while the old versions colors and brightness is similar to the other armor varinats in game (at least for me, with an lcd screen).
Armor variant C is the [chain mail] (originally looking like a scale armor) Armor variant D is the [splint mail] (the one used by Alistair in Ostagar)
Dall is quite a curious modder, as he makes tons of HQ and advanced mods, but then puts so little effort in the description that it is sometimes hard to understand what exactly the different file versions or updates actually change... The new chainmail texture is very impressive in the way that it actually depicts interlaced rings in the way rl chain mails are made up, which is sadly difficult to see in game (compared to opening the diffuse map texture in gimp).
I really wish Dall would revisit this mod and make it great again. :-) I think perhaps the very first version was the best in the sense that the tint maps in that version followed the vanilla tint map quite closely. But it's probably been, oh, 12 years or so since I had those files... I've tried using the old version available here, but the tinting options here aren't very great. It is possible to lighten the tint map using a "levels" function in a good photo editing program, though. That will apply tints, but the only tints that really are available seems to be silver(ite, steel, iron/grey iron) and gold (veridium, red steel, dragonbone, white steel, volcanic aurum). It requires the skill (and patience!) of someone who can remake the tint maps from scratch to make them behave like the normal tinting options, I think. But then this mod would surpass the vanilla C armours by far! And as jojonexus below says: avoid version 2.0 - it basically does not work in the sense that the armour will be very dark, and tinting does not work at all (well, maybe with UDK and/or TWF - I haven't tried).
Thank the maker XD I loved this mod. I loved to play as a rogue but i always hated the light armors so i used the grey iron chainmail untill the end of the game (I know xD... I know...). This mod saved me, i can use chainmail parts of different materials and they will always look great :) Thank you Can I ask you a favor? I wanted to apply this mod only to chainmail and to Wade's Superior Drakeskin armor set and Wade's Dragonskin armor set. Can you make a mod only for these armors or give me a link for a tutorial (or anything like that) to me to learn how to apply that mod only to those armors? Thank you for this mod and sorry my poor english ^^
These are beautiful! Detailed and I love how you the enhanced colors and yet stayed true to the style portrayed in the game. Can't wait to see them in game!
I would be using this except... the instructions suck. What replaces what? You say to 'use single version' and then do not say what the heck C or D is, and what it replaces. and in 2.0 there are zero instructions whatsoever.
Offkorn I agree but some users seem to have problem in finding even their Documents folder thus to me quite silly DAZip install as my Service to Public
