If you are also using Demonology Specializations by HallownessDevoured both mods have the same guitype ID (700) which means only 1 specialization will appear in Talents.
An easy fix is to use a .gda editor to change either ID's found in their respective guitypes.gda file to a different number (I changed Demonology from 700 to 702, because Necromancy uses 701, and both mods work just fine)
Problem is that i buffed enemy health and with the new formula the skills are not so great. I dont know enough to increase the damage so actually im basically using "Death Strike" as a healing attack.
In order to change that go into your Dragon Age addins folder find the Death Knight folder then open the core/data file using Bioware's erf editor.
Then look up the Abi base GDA file and choose extract resource and in the GDA file that you extracted look for the talent "Death Strike which is actually on the first line next go to where the upper lines says conditions find the number 128 (which is code for the two hander requirement...) and change it to zero.
Go back to the Erf editor click the GDA file on top and then insert the GDA file that you just altered Save the GDA file and exit the erf editor.
BlazingSpeed... you are a LIFESAVER. I was actually looking for a way to edit a spell from an entirely different mod when I came across your notes, and was able to do it! THANK YOU!!!
Thx for all your messages. Yes im modding DAO in 2022 for the first time.
Although with your fix you can "Death Strike" with 1h; for some reason the "drain hp" effect is not working. Maybe my messy mod installation is at fault but cant know for sure.
My solution: adding the specialization pack mod that is also here. The "duskblade" specialization has a 1h attackt similar to "death strike".
So Death Knight for Stern and Duskblade for myseld ;D
Using a GDA editor, you can go to the visual effects fields of sustained skills and set them to 0 The abilities use visual effects from the game itself, so you would have to turn them off that way. (when you load a game after doing this, if those sustains are active they will still produce the effect. turning them off, and then on again will fix this.) Good luck
every new skill/spell i install using vortex or adding in myself manually i see it on the skill tree but it says (class name not found) and no description of any of the pictures of the spells or talents i know im like half a decade late to this thread but is it because these mods are super old or something?
