Basic instructions on how to use Be More Elfy with the Improved Atmosphere mod

Hot Tip! Use the DirConflict mod to search for conflicting files. This is a very useful tool (especially with texture mods) if you're unsure what conflicting files you have. I went years unaware this even existed—don't be me!

IA and Be More Elfy can be used together. However, the Improved Atmosphere mod by SpaceAlex edits some of the same dialogue files I do. So, if you want my changes with the IA mod installed, please read and follow the instructions below.

At this time, I'm not able to provide a patch that would merge my changes with IA's, so you have to choose my changes over theirs. Patching requires me to dig into the dialogue files outside the toolset since I don't have access to the builder files or a detailed, step-by-step Read Me file like with QUDAO to do simple edits in the toolset. Right now, I'm dealing with some major life changes. Making a patch is just extra work I don't have time for if I want to continue updating the mod with new changes. For now, patches will be made for QUDAO only.

There are two main ways to use these conflicting mods together.

1. Delete the files from the IA folders that conflict with the ones in my dialogue mod.

or

2. Name your folders in Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\packages\core\override to load in a specific order.
(Remember your override always takes priority in load order over Dazip installations)

My mod folder(s) will have to load after Improved Atmosphere. The load order in DAO can be controlled (to a point) by folder naming in your override. The game loads alphabetically in reverse, so Z to A.

theskymoves explains this well (recommended read) ----> kh mods her game- DAO

To delete conflicting files-

In your override folder, look for this folder
Improved Atmosphere -> 2. Modules -> 2.4 Conversations -> Dialogs

Within the "Dialogs folder" are all the dialogue changes made by IA.
Delete the files listed below and then drop my mod into your override.

Also, check the Improved Atmosphere mod installation notes for any other files that may need to be removed if you remove dialogues files. I don't use IA myself, but it's been reported by those who do that Be More Elfy and IA work fine together.

Ultimately, modding your game responsibly means that as you install mods, you watch carefully for conflicts between everything you use. Check that no override folders contain the same dialogue files I have edited. Search
your override folder for duplicates and read all instructions from any mod you download, as some are installed as a dazip.
It can be a lot of work to make multiple mods play well together, but once they do, your game will be just as you want it to be!
