I have a bit of a problem, while I do have the plaid skin for the heavy cannon, and some parts of it are changed it still doesn't look entirely like the one in the pictures.

While I absolutely love the design of this skin, does anybody know how to reduce the luminosity of the decorative LEDs on the plasma rifle? Of course, I understand that excessive neon is a prime aspect of cyberpunk aesthetic, but in-game, the intense glare and brightness produced by these lights essentially dominate the skin and obscure its colorful and intricate designs.

If this is indeed a issue associated with this mod, then any help would be appreciated! However, if this issue is caused by some other mod, then forgive my complaining and carry on lmao.

    Thanks in advance!

For those who want to use the Heavy Cannon skin but doesn't have the Plaid skin to replace, here's how to move it to instead replace the default Heavy Cannon.
I don't actually know how to mod Doom Eternal nor do I have any experience in coding, so this is just some rando-on-the-internet's scuffed way of modifying files.

    • Extract the zip file, then rename "gameresources_patch1" folder to just "gameresources".
    • Go to the "warehouse\art\weapons\heavycannon\skins\plaid" folder, and you would see a bunch of files inside it, then remove every instance of "_plaid" on the file names.
    • Move the files to "warehouse\art\weapons\heavycannon" folder, and remove the skins\plaid folders.
    • Go back to the "warehouse" folder and copy the "art" folder to the "gameresources" folder.
    • ZIP the "gameresources" and "warehouse" folder to one ZIP, such as by using Winrar, and name it however you like.
    • Run the EternalModManager again, then disable the old Cyberpunk Heavycannon mod and enable the new one with the new name.
    • Open Doom Eternal and you should see that the default Heavy Cannon skin has been replaced with the Cyberpunk Heavycannon.

Hello. I followed every step for the Heavy Cannon but it didn't work. I fear I missed something but I can't for the life of me figure out what it could be.

Edit: Nevermind. I finally have the plaid skin. FINALLYYYYYY! 😆😆😆

I was driving myself insane wondering why I could NOT get the Heavy C to work. Turns out, people are saying I need a special base skin for it. Which I don't, and most likely won't have unless they bring it back.

Any way to switch it to like replace the default heavy c?

seems kind of pointless to make the heavycannon only work for an exclusive skin you could only get one time. why not replace astro with it?

There are youtube Videos with links to the discord and everything. That's how I got started. It's easy once you see it done. Just go to Youtube and type in something like "How to Mod Doom Eternal With Mod injector"
I would give you the link, but this way I am teaching you how to seek out what ya need with video instructions.
If you still need help after that, I'll help some more. Good luck brotha

    Hi,

I love your cyberpunk weapon pack, good!
I don't have the plaid skin for the heavy cannon and I was wondering if you could make the same skin but replacing the default skin

    Thanks for your attention!

Maybe I managed it, just unpack the file, then create a folder named gameresources, copy everything from warehouse to gameresources; inside "gameresources\art\weapons\heavycannon\skins\plaid" copy every file in "gameresources\art\weapons\heavycannon" and rename each one by deleting "_plaid". Then copy everything from "gameresources\generated\decls\material2\art\weapons\heavycannon\skins\plaid" in "gameresources\generated\decls\material2\art\weapons\heavycannon". Hope it solved!
