Increases firing rate of the auto mod of the shotgun - changes ammo consumption, amounts and damage dealt for balancing. The auto mod is now a very worthy competitor of the sticky bomb! Its use is now more similar to the turret mod of the chaingun - obliterate your enemies!

Mod description

The auto shotgun is now a worthy competitor with the turret chaingun. It is useful for taking down heavies and superheavies. You can also get shells back with the mastery shell return, but you don't get enough back to rely on this - this is more of a bonus. The auto shotgun is also now more fun to use as it has a much higher firing rate and you have more shells. The shell cost of the other shotgun weapons have been altered to compensate for this, as well as the total number of shells you have and receive from demons and the auto shotgun mastery shell return.

**Version 1.7. changes**

To make the weapon mod more balanced and less OP, the ammo you get back when you master it is less :

Fodder = 4 shells 
Heavy = 6 shells
Superheavy = 8 shells

**Changes in summary**

General
  • Firing rate is nearly twice as fast.
  • No recoil
  • No movement penalty
  • Mod upgrade points for the auto shotgun :

Faster movement = 1 point
Quicker cooldown = 1 point
Quicker deploy = 1 point

Since there is no movement penalty at all with my mod, I made the faster movement weapon mod = 1 point (it can't be 0 points). 
I also didn't see any value in the quicker cooldown upgrade, so I made this 1 point too
The only upgrade I think worth having is the quicker deploy one. All mod upgrades are now 1 point, so you need 3 points to get them all to start getting the mastery upgrade!


Ammo cost
To allow the player to fire the auto shotgun more without running out of ammo so quickly, I have made the following changes :

  • Player can carry twice the number of shells : 32 / 36 / 40 / 44 / 48 (maximum)
  • Shell pickups and chainsaw pickups have been doubled too
  • Auto shotgun mastery shells returned are reduced :

Fodder = 4 shells 
Heavy = 6 shells
Superheavy = 8 shells

  • 1 auto shotgun shot = 1 shell 
  • 1 shotgun normal firing mode shot & 1 sticky bomb = 2 shells 
  • 1 supershotgun shot = 4 shells 
(This way, you use the same number of shells for your other shotgun weapons as you normally would)

The damage output of the auto shotgun is unchanged.

Additional notes :

This mod clashes with the ‘viewmodel FOV mod’, i.e. the shotgun and supershotgun FOVs revert to the game’s original FOV. I have attached another
FOV mod to fix this (only for the supershotgun and shotgun, you still have to use the original viewmodel FOV mod by COGSpartan130) - I don't claim credit for the original FOV mod, I only tweaked it to work with mine.
