Woah, this mod does WAY more than I thought it did when I first heard of it! I'm going to absolutely mess around with this a ton. Thank you so much for making this, the amount of replayability for Doom Eternal just skyrocketed even more for me, especially when I can experiment with the many optional files you'll be uploading soon. You're so awesome!

Hopefully Update 2 to Doom Eternal tomorrow doesn't give you a had time adapting your mods for it.

Thank you for the kind words, i really appreciate it.
After i upload the optional files, i'll keep working on my visual "no glow" mod, it's similar to "gritty doom", but with different options.
After that i'll continue working on my "main" mod which is a gameplay overhaul mod that intends to make doom eternal much faster and much harder.
Locomotive is part of this mod.
I 'm also trying to take away the focus from resource management and make the player focus on weapon management, meaning using the best weapon(s) depending on the demons they are facing (working with damage scalars depending on the demon and more).
As for the update, we'll see.
It might break modding for a while, until people much more skilled than i update the tools needed for modding.
On the other hand if it's a battlemode update or if it doesn't add any new files, rather it alters values on already existing ones, then we'll probably be ok.

Just as a heads up, modding was broken yesterday but idRehash was updated today, available on the Doom 2016+ modding discord and it seems to work great from my experience.

Yeah i know, most mods don't work for me. Are you saying that my mods (and others) are working fine for you?

After using the updated idRehash on the Doom 2016+ discord (Doom Eternal modding tools section), most of my mods work. Aside from some objects (not all) still glowing even with "Gritty Doom" enabled (for example, the cultist base key model), Locomotive crashing (which I believe happens for everyone since the update), and the mod that stops the player from glowing when collecting health not working either.

Many mods, including rocket jumping, chainsaw upgraded and melee damage restored still work just fine from what I can tell. Most other mods I have work as well, including custom glory kill highlights, the delighter mod, and more. I hope things are fully sorted out sooner than later, but already lots of progress have happened in a single day since the update.

Thanks for your response, i know that locomotive doesn't work anymore, i will try to update it.
As for gritty doom, it's not working for me anymore.
The reason gritty Doom is working on your end is , probably, because you only updated your game and then just re-applied the DoomEternalpatcher without re-veryfying your files.
That means that your SP (singleplayer) .resource files didn't revert to their "vanilla" state and that's why it's still working for you.
If you were to remove all mods then verify your files and redo all necessary steps to enable modding, gritty doom probably wouldn't work anymore.
There's been talk in the discord channel that Id/Bethesda might be updating their files in such a way that prevents you from modding them, meaning that the game won't accept changed files and crash on startup.
That's something we have yet to confirm/disprove for now.
I will try recreating my locomotive mod using the new .resource files and see if that works.

Thank you for your explanation as to why several mods still work for me, it makes sense. I did verify my files after the new update but only once, before getting and using the new idRehash.

I personally highly doubt that it is a deliberate attempt by Bethesda or Id to prevent mods from working. It is, unfortunately, a common side effect for mods to break with updates to games. That includes non-Bethesda games such as the Resident Evil remakes, the Witcher 3, Code Vein and more.

I hope you and the other mod creators manage to sort everything out without much more hassle. Hopefully EternalModInjector.bat getting updated will be a big help too.

Will upload many optional files in a couple of days.
