Hi, there. Love the mod. Learnt how to do the manual edit too, so thank you for the inspiration.
Perhaps you could help with an issue I am having. I've gone through all possible files through the game and mods with weapon_underscore.def to manually change the spread. Nothing seems to be working. I was hoping you could provide some insight.
Trouble seems to have originated when I installed the Doom 3 Essential HD Pack, running it through Dhewm 3. Before using D3HD pack, it ran just fine with Dhewm 3. Is it possible I missed something? I've been working at this problem for a few days, looking to see if others had the same issue, and I have come up with nothing.
Hi, I have been using your mod, and it's super great and all, but why does it have such an issue working with duct tape? The only mod i can get to work with both your mod and a flashlight(relatively, more like a warm yellow shoulder lamp, which is fine) is awesome sauce, and the difficulty spike is ridiculous. Not trying to sound like a jerk, I know it reads that way, but I'm having a really hard time.
I do have a mod for BFG Edition that makes several balance changes - including reduced shotgun spread, but no standalone version of this mod for BFG Edition.

Sorry for the bother.
It sound like you might be trying to use it with the BFG edition.
I would reccomend 2004 over BFG edition.
This mod is a single edited file "weapon_shotgun.def" this file defines many characteristics for the pump-shotgun.
Many duct tape mods will edit the individual file of each weapon to add the light to them when equiped.
The game engine can only load ONE of these two files, so which every is loaded last will be the one used.
If you open the duct tape mod you want to use, find this file and then CTRL+F and search for "Spread" there will be a value of 22, change this to 5.
Programs you might want for this would be: WinRAR and Notepad++.
