About this mod
Project Survival is the result of a few years of tinkering around with Doom Modding. As of now, things are in a solid state for a full release. NOTHING is finalized, and EVERYTHING is subject to change. This is the result of me experimenting with the five core ideas stated above.

- BALANCE: Every attack and source of damage should feel like it is fair, considered, and comes either with its own set of upsides and downsides, or an express means of circumventing it.
- PURPOSE: Each enemy, weapon, and ability should have an express purpose for existing in the mod. Each weapon should fill a niche, each enemy should feel like it brings something completely new to the fight.
- PROGRESSION: The player’s arsenal, and the enemies they encounter, should progress at a steady curve. No more encountering four new enemies in the same room. No more gaining five new weapons in a single fight.
- ATMOSPHERE: Classic and even modded doom levels should have an enhanced atmosphere. Enemies, props, and décor should all combine to make things feel more desolate and immersive
- TENSION: Dooms quiet moments are one of the things that define it. These moments should build tension more than ever, with more terrifying and explosive ways for enemies to reveal themselves and break the silence.

UNIQUE FEATURES:
-Custom HUD graphics that display new features
-Tighter resource economy through limited ammo and more durable enemies
-Damage resistance and weakness system on enemies
-Custom balancing and animations for ALL PB weapons
-A fully custom blaster pistol made from scratch
-A fully custom crossbow with a demonic upgrade made from scratch
-A partially custom lever action rifle taking inspiration from the Siren Yellowboy
-A large variety of custom melee weapons that are used through the quick melee ability
-A more fleshed out equipment system with a variety of special grenades and remote bombs
-The removal of many redundant enemies from the PB enemy roster
-The addition of multiple new enemies to make the roster more varied and imposing
-Several completely custom boss fights
Now for the obligatory, I take no credit for anything I didn’t make. Under the hood, a LOT of this is original code. That said, a lot of artists are more talented than me, including the PB team, the LiT Doom team, and the many sprite artists from which I drew assets and animations for weapons, enemies, and equipment in this build. Their work is completely their own, and its use here is only to prevent my mid animation skills from seeing the light of day any more than necessary.
Now, if you want to go blind, the installation instructions are at the end of the guide for those who need them. I wouldn’t recommend that, however. A couple of mechanics could really hurt your enjoyment of this if not properly explained. I hope everything is detailed well enough below.
