Great mod, but it has some rendering glitches.  In Doom 1 episode 1, when moving around on the first level, there was large white rectangles showing up on my screen.  Some textures have black lighting on them, which doesn't look right, and some lighting on the textures flickers like crazy.  Are these glitches going to be addressed in a future update?

If you changed the graphic settings and enabled a bloom effect try to disable it.

Thanks, disabling bloom stopped the white circles and rectangles flashing, but the lighting still flickers, and there is still black lighting on some textures.  Is there another setting I need to change to stop the flickering, and black lighting?

Here is an example of the black lighting glitch:

I love this mod, but just one question.  How do I remove the circular automap in the top-left of the screen?  I find it distracting, and prefer to press TAB to view the automap.

At current settings you can toggle between show/hide minimap with Mouse 5 button. You can disable the minimap or bind any key to its toggling in Options -> UCMimimap Options.

Thanks for the feedback. At this time I finished my work on the mod. I'll try to consider your request when I get back to working on it.

Nice update.  I know you said it would be brighter, but it actually seems darker, at least in E1M1.  I made some changes in the last version through the display options.  Maybe that's the issue?  Is there an easy way to get default back?  Also, saves from the previous version won't load, although this may be expected.  Thanks.

The default settings stored in "gzdoom_default.ini" file placed in "Engine" subfolder. You can delete a "gzdoom.ini" file in this folder then copy "gzdoom_default.ini" and rename it to "gzdoom.ini".
Yes, the saves from previous version won't load because of a new engine version.

After playing this mod for a while, I have to say it's pretty damn good.  Everything is very well done.  I really like the lighting effects.

One more noob type question.  How do I restore the classic status bar at the bottom of the screen?  It's there on the automap but I'd like on the main screen, like classic DOOM if possible.  Thanks!

You can restore it by pressing the "minus" keyboard key.

    Hi

I've downloaded the new version 2 and when I open the new Doom remake 5 .exe file and select my Doom wad which is Ultimate Doom, the .exe can't find the wad. I've tried placing the wad in every folder and it still can't recognise it. Don't think I'm doing anything wrong as the batch file in version 1 found the wad file straight away. Any possible solution?

      Hi
You must place the wad file(which name showed in message of DooM_Remake5.exe) to the empty WADs folder which comes with the mod.
If you want to run "Ultimate Doom The Way id Did" you must have in WADs folder 3 wad files: doom.wad, DTWID.wad, UDTWiD.wad
      ps
The empty folders deletes from zip archive on nexusmods - that's the problem. You must create the folder named WADs in mod folder and place into created folder the .wad files.
      pps
I uploaded new zip archive with WADs and Save folders that previously was deleted by nexusmods file system.

Hi, I didn't have those additional wads as I have the original Ultimate Doom so never needed anything other than the Doom.wad - which your original remake v5 was ok with. I've managed to find those additional wads and downloaded them. Is there any way you can set the .exe file up to accept the original Ultimate Doom? - otherwise I'm thinking all those users will need to get those 2 additional wads from somewhere.

The problem those additional .wads are actually mods that significantly change the game.

This is excellent.  But why can't I play vanilla DOOM itself?  (Vanilla DOOM 2 is there, though.)  All I see are modded options.  Thanks.

THanks, but the top left button for me says "DOOM +SIGIL+SIGIL2".

edit: Sigil is Romero's mod?  Ok.  I'll try.

Some files you can free download on third party modders pages. Some are distributed by its legal owners. Use the internet searching and you can easily get all of them.
