Installation :

You can either download the ZIP archive with the .wad file or the archive with the .ogg files. You will need the .ogg files if you want to use this mod with the updated version of DOOM (1993) which is available on most gaming platforms (formerly titled "Ultimate DOOM" on Steam and "DOOM I Enhanced" on GOG).

Installation (.ogg files):
1) Download the archive file
2) Go to the DOOM (1993) folder
3) Find folder "DOOM_Data" (depending on the version you use this folder can be inside folder "rerelease")
4) Go to "\DOOM_Data\StreamingAssets\Soundtrack"
5) Extract all .ogg files from the archive into folder "Soundtrack"

Installation (.wad file):
1) Download and extract the archive file 'Po8HQDOOMMusic.wad'
2) Download and install GZDOOM
3) Download and install ZDL (https://zdoom.org/wiki/ZDL)
4) Run ZDL and add GZDOOM as "Source port", add 'DOOM.wad' (from your original DOOM folder) as "IWAD" and add 'Po8HQDOOMMusic.wad' as "External File"
5) Start game by pressing "Launch" in ZDL

This is just one possibility. There are multiple source ports other than GZDOOM and ways to run a .wad file in DOOM.

Compatibility:
This mod is not compatible with other mods that exchange the music files. Make sure that this mod is loaded after other mods that exchange the music.

Pieces of 8-Bit breathes new life into retro video game music. I am dedicated to faithfully restoring retro video game music for your enjoyment, for educational purposes, and for posterity. I am passionate about retro gaming because I lived it, and the songs I hummed along to as I played became the reason I am a musician today. This channel is my way of giving back -- it is an homage to those composers who changed my life.

My focus is on games from the late 70s to the late 90s. I try to keep things as accurate to the original as possible, with the aim of remaking the soundtrack in the way I believe the original composer would have done it if they had the technology of today.

All of the songs on my channel are copyrighted under law. Where applicable, All Rights Reserved.
