Thanks for the mod! But I can't understand where to write the path to the game in the ReShade.ini file? My directory is H:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DOOM. Thank you if anyone repeats how to do this.
Tried several times and finally succeeded,copy the 4 files/folders in the Main files to the DOOM installation path,and then modify the paths of the 3 variables:CurrentPresetPath,EffectSearchPaths,TextureSearchPaths in ReShade.ini,for example,CurrentPresetPath=H :\Steam Library\steamapps\common\DOOM\Carmack v1.1.ini,hope it helps you :)
Be interested to know how you got that work. It made my game crash. Deleted the OpenGL file and the game loaded but none of the reshade effects were applied or selectable.
In the end I realized it's because Doom has two .exe files, the standard one and the one with "vk" in it, which I now realize is the one for Vulkan. After applying reshade to that one it mostly works - the first "depth" effect doesn't work, but other than that it seems to work really well.
Unfortunately in full form it completely kills my FPS. I have somehow dated computer, yet it was able to run the game around 40-50 fps on UltraHD TV. When ReShade is enabled, it drops to 25 and less. Several times I was like playing on constant Bullet time. OK, I did some tinkering upon UAC level (exterior Mars), checked FPS changes and visual changes with various filters (de)activated. Drop is aroun ~2 fps per option activated. My personal note: After some tests - shades, darkness/light, colors, sharpness visual effects vs. fps drop of various filters, active filters were left as follows:
Btw. "Clarity.fx" seems to be the greatest FPS killer - tested on 2-3 scenes and it took 6-10 fps P.S. I have nearly forgotten: Endorsed, with fog/haze removed and some sharpening added, game looks great
Tried installing this but DOOM is not detecting it, not sure if I needed Reshade installed beforehand or if just dropping those files in DOOM's root folder is supposed to work instantly or not.
Either way, I tried changing the paths in the Reshade.ini to no avail. Specifically tried to change: CurrentPresetPath= EffectSearchPaths= TextureSearchPaths=
I tried to write my directory in a few ways. For example:
I followed the installation and everything is set, game launches as normal and I load up a mission. The Reshade controls don't work and nothing looks different or editor modes work. Is there something I can do my mom wants to play the game
I have an issue with the effect DisplayDepth.fx, both in latest Reshade version and the older 4.5.4: error x3004 undeclared identifier reshade_depth_input_x_pixel_offset So DisplayDepth effect is not activated and in red. Any clue on how to fix it ? Cause it's the effect that I find the most attractive in this reshade. All other effects work properly. I've correctly entered my custom install paths in the reshade.ini file.

Fortunately, it has a minimal effect anyway so it's not a huge loss to disable it.

CurrentPresetPath=
EffectSearchPaths=

I tried to write my directory in a few ways. For example:
CurrentPresetPath=.S:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DOOM\Carmack v1.1.ini
CurrentPresetPath= S:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DOOM\Carmack v1.1.ini
CurrentPresetPath=S:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DOOM\Carmack v1.1.ini
CurrentPresetPath=S :\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DOOM\Carmack v1.1.ini
None of these worked. I don't know exactly what I'm doing wrong :/
well done, amigo.
It gives a side "gears of war 1" level color and atmosphere.
The surfaces stand out better, the blacks deeper, the atmosphere heavier and personally, I love the film-like grain.
On a 2K screen, with this mod, the game looks like it's out of 2022!
It almost looks like the next dead space remake!
Thank you again for this work!
