It should automatically be added to your characters inventories when you load the game, or recruit a new character.

I can't find the 'armaments of the gods' book. I just replayed the game with this mod, and i'm on fort joy beach. I enable the cheat, load the game, and the book is not in my char inventory. is there a way to spawn the book ?

[SOLVED] i need to install the script extender.

Bit of a late reply, but yes it's possible to use this mod without the Script Extender, you'll just miss out on some features. I doubt it's the extender causing crashes for you though, it's pretty rock stable.

Great mod thanks for making and updating it,
small issue on my end: using the included book i toggled off unique item leveling however my equipped uniques wouldn't scale back down (second skin and lohar's source hammer). fixed by dropping them before applying the mod

Hmm. It should log all items in your inventory, at their current level, when installed mid playthrough so that it knows what level to de-scale them to later. Then it should level them.

If the items didn't de-scale it would mean it triggered the levelling on them first, and then recorded *that* as its original level.

I tried to make sure it would go in the order I set but the game sometimes just does its own thing. Might have to add a time delay or something.

Alternatively if you had an earlier version of this mod installed and upgraded, then it wouldn't know how to de-scale them because its original level data was never recorded. If that's the case there's not much I could do about that, just how adding features over time goes.

Anyways, thanks for letting me know. Just a little hiccup when installing mid playthrough. All newly obtained items in your save from this point on should work entirely as intended.

Just wanna let you know how much I appreciate this mod. I cannot imagine progressing up the levels having to find equipment with my preferred bonus stats again and again.

I prevented higher level items from scaling down by storing them in Lady Vengeance. Apply the mod. Before taking the items out of Lady Vengeance, remove the mod first.

Thank you for making this, imho, a very essential DOS2 mod.

You don't need to do that workaround at all... install the Script Extender as is mentioned in the mod description. Items will then not be scaled downwards.

      Oh thx I'll try it.

Do bonuses like HP scale accordingly when an item level up?

Can someone here enlighten me a bit, i'm wondering what the balance is like for this mod considering the "level everything including Uniques" mod does basically the same thing but charges you for it. Does it unbalance the game when you no longer have to go through it hunting resources-making thing-selling things, or without having to accumulate massive wealth to get your best look just because we want a new outfit.

its pretty balanced, stats are random so the thrill of the hunt is still there, also because of weight you cant carry everything, and merchants have limited gold so you can't get too rich.
also if you use the Crafting overhaul mod you will be disassembling gear too.

Unfortunately, the mod is bugged currently (though I love the concept!), such that mod-upgraded item values are worse than corresponding newly purchased vendor item values: please see my new bug report for details. Cheers!

Copy-pasting my response to this from the Steam workshop. It's not a bug with my mod.

This mod uses the method the game uses for levelling all items, the exact same method used to generate items you can buy in the shop.

If for any reason your old gear is worse than new gear, it is because it is just worse gear. What you may not know is that there are different types of gear of the same type in the same rarity categories. Confusingly, the game might still use the same or similar icons for them.

Common gear in Fort Joy is not the same as common gear in Arx, as they are based off different stats tables.

Once you get to certain levels, the game decides it will allow you to find (and buy) common gear of higher quality than you could before.

EDIT: A user at the old mod page had posted (https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/6954296-level-up-all-equipment-including-uniques-definitive-edition/page-3#entry69115461) to indicate that that other mod at least failed to update the level attribute within "<node id="ItemGeneration">", but it sounds like this isn't actually relevant and/or an issue that can be "fixed" by that or your mod, correct?

Oh, that's too bad! I was hoping for a way to ensure all my gear (now that I've got equipment that has exactly the stats I want) could keep pace with the merchant gear's stats in each area, but apparently that's impossible given how the item data was structured by Larian. If anyone's interested and is in a similar situation, the save editor at https://github.com/NovFR/DoS-2-Savegame-Editor can be used after you buy new better gear to fix up the items' stats the way you like; I've tested it fairly extensively and it seems to work fine in the Definitive Edition, but I'm not the tool's author so make no guarantees. It's also obviously a bit cumbersome if you want to edit a lot of equipment and/or do this every character level, but at least it's an option. Thanks again!

It works completely fine on my end and I can't reproduce the bug.

If no one sends me a save file with the issue I cannot hope to fix it, simple as that. The save would need to be before the item was levelled down.

If I understood this correctly, this seems to be a misunderstanding.
Sometimes the game gives you items that have a higher level than you character at the time.
The mod seems to level these down to your current level.

I do not know whether this is intentional or even whether it can be changed. But right now the mod makes sure every item has exactly your current level.

Yes, yes, so much yes. Thank you for making this. It is so time consuming to make sure that you're always on top of your equipment, especially in large parties. Even with the Level Up All Equipment Mod it was still frustrating.

    Cheers!

Then I'll add on that that I appreciate your efforts to make this mod.

      Thank you.
